Hero Arts

Hello, I havent made a card today but I didn't really want to ruin my run lately so I have posted a card I have made for a batch order.  I used my new Hero Arts stamps CL375, I had swooned over this stamp as the amazing Kath has shown the gorgeous cards she has used with them.  I am mainly a digi fan but there is something about Hero Arts and Penny Black that I love.  Anyway, enough waffle!  The papers used here are from Funky Hand and I love the teal collection very much.

I will be AWOL for a couple of days this weekend as the girls, guys and pups are coming over so I will endeavour to post a card each day until then!

Thank you for visiting and for all of your smashing comments about my funny cards recently, I have bought 3 more images so watch this space!

Karens Doodles #3

Hi, here is another last minute entry into a challenge and this time it is for Karens Doodles.  It's been my second attempt at this sketch as on the first one I placed the image too low for the sentiment to fit on!  This is a freebie image from Karen, I think it might have been from her PCP group.  It is a really happy little chappie and as I need to make a few male birthday cards, I think he fits the bill perfectly!
Paper is from Funky Hand and sentiment Forever Friends.

PTW # 37

Hello, I had to remake this card as I couldn't find it anywhere!  Yes, I know, another senior moment!  I was so pleased that I'd got all of my family cards made months in advance and clearly it wasn't such a good idea, as I obviously can't find the 'safe place'.  Why is it that we all have these 'safe places' that keep disappearing?!
This is another Bugaboo image and it just makes me smile!  This is for my nieces hubbie and luckily they both have a good SOH!

Oh I nearly forgot, I am entering this on the last day for the Papertake Weekly which is a sketch.
If I remember I might be back later to post another Easter card and link it to one of the many Easter challenges running at the moment.

Thank you for your visit!

Easter Bunny

Hello, here is an Easter card with a difference!  It's one I made for my hubby and will appeal to his sense of humour!
Stockings are a pain in the derriere arent they ladies and I say that if he likes them so much then help himself so I thought I would treat him to someone else wearing a pair.

so there she is!  Her figure is by far much better than mine but I do feel that her extra years may balance that out, well I do hope so!!
This is the first outing for the fab image called Faneaster from
BugaBoo.  I really like their images, they are such fun!
I wrote the sentiments to go with the image, hope you like it!
The backing papers are all Pink Petticoat Lola Rose Boudoir and the dark grey card is from Papermill.  I coloured with my PM's and of course my nesties label.

Hope you all have a fab day!

Penny Black ballerina's

Hello, thanks for all of the lovely comments that have been left for me recently, they have been great!
Here is a Good Luck card I made for a dancer in the production of Coppelia.  Each time the sisters are involved in a local production I am asked to make them cards and this time it is for Coppelia.  Jourdan is still in junior school so I hope she likes the little dancing hedgies!  I had loads of lilac papers to use up after my last card so watercoloured them to coordinate!  I am really pleased with my new nestie labels, I cant recommend them highly enough!
Hope you all have a fab weekend and thank you for calling in!

Lilac Mint and 1 other Colour Challenge

Hello,  seems Im having a senior moment as I made a note this week of a challenge that involved lilac, mint & one other colour.  I set about duly making my card and now I come to post it and I can't find the blinking challenge anywhere!
I should really ask my friend Pinky as she is definitely the Queen of Challenges, Pinky, any ideas?  Ive gone back 6 days on my post reader and cant find it either but I was only looking at the titles!  I may well have to just pretend to play along with it!
This is one of the Gorjuss Girls with a furry friend, had a stamping session with my non clear stamps and came up with a little pile that I shall work through.
The little textured white chips are from a little box of beads for jewellery making.
Thank you for calling in, have a wonderful weekend whatever you get upto!

ETA: Thank you Clare for enlightening me!  It was my 1st time at joining in too, how embarrassing is that?!
The challenge is #27 over at Sophisticats.  Please pop over and join in!

Daisy Bunnies

Hello, Ive had a few days with no card making, how naughty was that!  I've got back in the swing of things with some Easter cards using the Penny Black Daisy Bunnies.  My desk is awash with shades of orange and green, I can hardly see the desk beneath!
The pale grid paper is by Funky Fairy and the rest of the papers are from My Minds Eye: Bloom and Grow.  Oh I used one of my new Nesties that I got for Mother's Day; I love the tags as they kill 2 birds with one stone in that there is a space for a sentiment and yet it is also decorative, perfect!

Some of these papers are from Funky Hand and Pink Petticoat and my punches are by Woodware.

Thanks for your visit!

Candy Winner

Hello, Im pleased to say that Claire X is the winner of my 1st candy.  Thank you to everyone who left me a comment, as you can see all names were printed off, folded up and put into a bag to be drawn.  Having left 6 comments I guess Claire had a slightly higher chance of being drawn!

Its rainy and miserable here so I hope you have better weather and some sunshine to enjoy this weekend.

K1 P1

Good morning, here is a card for a special person.  My SIL Les, she is just great.  I wont bore you with all of the details but suffice it to say, she is very special to me.
The fun image is from SJ's Little Musings

Isnt it just fab?  I knew who I would make it for the moment I saw it.  I became her knitting tutor so a knitting card is perfect plus I've had great fun making it for her.  The knitting with 2 tiny cocktail sticks was interesting!  Thank goodness there was only 5 sts on each row!
The papers are Funky Fairy.
Thanks for looking

More balloons!

Hello, here is another balloon from Penny Black.  I watercoloured a little batch of them a few days ago but this will be the last I will post.  I used papers from pink petticoat in papaya and made some flowers and leaves from the left overs.  The lovely co-ordinating cardstock is DCWV & I used some fancy edged scissors to smarten the edges!
A very simple little card but quite colourful!
Back later with something fishy to share!

Tuesday, 16 March 2010

It seems that green is the must have colour of the day!  Ive visited many blogs and seen some beautiful green cards and I'd only just finished my own green one so it's now time to join the band!  This cute little image is one from a clear set of Penny Black.  The thing with green is that it is so unisex and I just loved these gorgeous papers from Funky Fairys.  I have followed the sketch over at Pretty in Ink.  Nicola has recently launched this site and she has some digi stamps available with more to soon follow; pop over if you get a moment and join in the challenge!

Hope everyone has enjoyed a little sunshine today, it's been perfect!

New Grandparents

Here is the card I made for the 1st time Grandparents of the little one due this week.  She is so very excited, as I would be, so I wanted to send them a little something also.
Ive used one of the Sweet Cheeks images from Pink Petticoat and coloured with my PM's.  Papers are all PP also plus the dreaded glamour dust!

It is a beautiful day here just like it started yesterday but by the time I got to take the dogs out it was overcast and decidedly cool!  Hopefully the sun will last the whole day today!

Baby Girl

Hello, here is a little word book I made for my DD2 to give to her SIL on the birth of their 1st baby which is due this week.  Call me old fashioned but I think I'd rather have it the traditional way in that you dont know the sex of the baby until delivery!
I used my FunkyHand CD and chose all of the paper designs for each letter.  I spent a merry old time with my QK and all of my baby themed dies and they were all needed to help cover all of the sides!

The gorgeous flower brads hold it all together and they were in the lovely candy I won from Fiona last year as this has been the first opportunity to put them to good use!
I had fun making a little box for this, it took 3 attempts to get a good fit for a lid and then I happened upon how to best do it for the next time - that's assuming I will remember it though!

Oh I feel very indulged after this weekend, it was so good having my beautiful girls come to stay overnight on Saturday.  We collected a wedding dress, had a little pampering session and then a lovely trip to the New Forest to mooch around a possible wedding venue followed by a really lovely lunch in a forest pub.  Best of all was of course the super sunshine!  Im sure the sun shone for all Mums yesterday in one way or another and I hope you all had wonderful days!

New Home

Hello,  here is Mo's gorgeous new home image and it's the first time of using for me.  It's just so sweet, don't they look super cute!  I gave the plain white just a hint of interest with some simple embossed lines.  I'm quite keen to get a new scoring board, can anyone recommend one please?

I would like to join in with the DU2DS challenge this week which is no patterned paper.  I can do that!

Well, I just can't believe that today is my 1st blogiversary!  I know I dont play along every day but life does get in the way somewhat but I have to say, this last year has really been just joyful for me.  I have loved chatting with lots of new and interesting ladies and the inspiration has been amazing.
As you may have surmised I live quite a hermit's life and the 'company' of blogging has been great and I can't thank you all enough.  Seeing a comment appear in my inbox is just the best thing, I get excited still with each one!
Anyway, in time honoured fashion I have a little candy but it is a secret candy.  I don't like the 'you must follow me and spread the word' kind of candy so this candy is going to be going to one of my existing followers.

It is a little mix of styles, a bit like me really.

Included are matching papers and alphabet chipboards of MME Wild Asparagus,
Wholy Cow 'Thanks' rub ons,
 a reel of hessian,
a BARE papermania photo frame,
set of assorted brads,
gems,
2 temporary tape runners (I use mine to adhere papers to steady them before I machine stitch them)
A forever friends mans stamp - perfect for Father's Day coming in June!
along with a few reels of Coat's sewing thread.

It's not the mega candies that go one offer of super equipment or the soon to be released stamps of a certain designer and I can appreciate some of my followers might not want it but over the next week, anyone who leaves a comment will go into the 'hat' to win this simple candy.  Anyone not wanting it can always email me - I wont be offended!

Thank you very much for sharing your love of craft with me over the last year!

ps  it's been a busy 1st blogiversary in the last couple of weeks as not only have I enjoyed this but also my friends Claire and Jules!  Congrats to you both also!

Such a cutie

Hello,  Hasn't it been lovely and sunny this week, it really has been gorgeous even though it was bitterly cold.  In the space of 3 days the bluebells in the woods where I walk the dogs have broken through the ground and are standing over 2" now.  I love walking through the bluebell wood as they are just such a special sight and they smell gorgeous too.
Here is a card I have made for my youngest great nephew.  He is a typical boy but behind the bravado is a little cutie who still loves his comforts!  I was honoured that he chose my shawl that I'd knitted to be his comfort and it had to go everywhere with him for a few years!  I even had to knit an A4 piece in the same wool so that they could throw the grey shawl!
The image is again Mo's and the papers are Pink Petticoat and Funky Hand.
A little teaser....pop back tomorrow for a little surprise!

Pretty Pansies in Blue

Hello, isn't the sunshine gorgeous!  It feels sub zero out there but at least it's sunny!  Will be taking the doggies out soon and now that my Blue Badge has arrived in the post, life will be so much easier now!
This is a great set from Fred She Said.  Some of you may remember all of those cute snowmen cards I made at Christmas as they are also FSS.  Ive made this card for my MIL and probably like most older ladies she loves pansies.
I know my Mum used to although scented Freesias were her favourite!  It's quite a difficult time of the year for thinking about my Mum but it's a case of trying to remember all of the fun instead of being sad.  It's going to be a lovely weekend for me as both of the girls are coming over on Saturday and we'll be collecting Laura's wedding dress and then having a lovely girlie pampering night in followed by a Mothers Day lunch on the Sunday.  I can hardly wait!

Just wanted to show where the message is!  Feels like it's in a secret place on these easel cards doesn't it!
All of the papers are part of the set other than the teal and white CS.

A little close up to show the layering of the pansies border.  It was all pre-coloured which I dont use very often but the set was too good to miss and, of course, much quicker!

Im off to walk the hounds now so have a lovely bright day wherever you are!
Thanks for calling in
Keryn

ETA: Just have to mention ladies that this was a preprinted set so sadly, I did not colour these in, I just fiddled with them with dry embossing, clear gel pen & a dash of stickles!  I could only wish to have colouring skills such as these!

Happy Anniversary

Hi, here is a card I was asked to make by the girl who was my 'bride'!  She'd received an easel card from my DD1 and loved it so much so Ive made her one for her Mum & Dad.
The image was sent to me by my friend Jules, thanks Jules and I think (if I remember right) it's called 'love blush' by Penny Black.  I wanted to keep the card quite uncluttered.
Hope you like it.

Mother's Day

Hi, this card was a request and the lady concerned loves the vintage cards so it was quite easy to find a fab image over at Digital 2 for Tuesday.  This really looks very 1930's to me and I decided to use quite an old soft blue for the main colour.  Coloured with PM's, used MSBP, a pc generated sentiment, ribbons & flowers from stash and made a couple of leaves.  I hope you like it.

Dental visit went well but then it would as it was only the initial check up and clean, next one is for 45mins for both DH and me but considering Ive not been to a dentist in nearly 5 years I think Ive gotten away with it lightly! Please note, the only reason I havent been was because there has been a huge lack of nhs dentists in this area, it's not because Im squeamish!

Am getting quite excited as my new blue badge is in the post so that will make going out a whole bunch easier for me in the future so Im quite looking forward to that!

Thanks for calling in, I love reading all of your comments, they make my day!

Another male card!

Good morning, here is a card I made at very late notice yesterday and hopefully my postman did his bit and it should be with the birthday boy today!
I used the 'dad motorcar' car from the great site
Graphics Fairy.  This is just the most amazing site for wonderful vintage images.  Karen loads masses of images covering a whole array of subject matter for you to use in your craft and they are all available for you to download free of charge!  Pop over and browse through the pages but be warned, grab a cuppa first!
The pp's are from Funky Fairys and distressed with black soot.
It's much sunnier here today which is lovely and we've got dentist appts later and no doubt that will cost us a small fortune!

Boys & their toys!

Hello,  Here is a fab image I have recently acquired from my friend Claire and if you use the link you will be able to see her latest images, they are equally fab and include a super toadstool cottage, a beautiful seahorse and a choice of super trees.
Ive made this card for one of my brothers and probably like most chaps, they enjoy the formula 1 racing!  I chose a really bright red and black colour theme and not knowing what to do with the racing track, I just pixellated it.  I used a piece of card from a qvc kit I got a long time ago and finished it off with 3 small brads in co ordinating colours.
Like most crafters I find male cards harder so I am really pleased with this fab image and will use it many times.
It is still bright here in Southampton but not quite as sunny as yesterday although I'm not complaining at all!  Wont it be lovely if Spring is slowly arriving!
