Last Lola for tonight!

And lastly for tonight is Steph's turquoise Lola for her birthday last week. For the first time I actually used up someof the scraps and decorated the inside of the cards to compliment the front. Im still trying to get the hang of it so am unsure at this stage if Im a fan of what I did!
Some of the pp has been embossed with the CB folders, rubons by dooddlebug, made with love charm just got reduced at The Range (pack of 6 - bargain!) and die cuts are QK.
That's it for me. Hope you all have a really lovely week and enjoy the beautiful summer sun that we are having!

Exploding Box

Hello! Im back from a caravanning break in Devon, it was lovely to go away and lovely also to be back to my comfy bed!! Just had to show you an exploding box oder that Ive just finished. Its for an 18 girl and her Mum was very exact with what images she wanted in the box so that was a challenge but only 2 weren't possible so Im quite pleased on the whole.
I know the box concept is an old one but they still make up really nicely so I'll share just a few photos.
Pearlescent card from The Range (big a1 sheet), stamped image of gorgeous shoe is from the very talented Chris at http://sketchingstamperdigi-stamps.blogspot.com All diecuts are mainly QK & a couple of Sizzix.
Hope you like it.

Creative Inspirations #12

Hi, here is my attempt at Creative Inspirations latest challenge which is to use 4 papers. I thought this would be much easier than it was, it's taken all night just to make one card & Im still not overly fussed with it! I even made my 1st attempt with the inside too but that is a bit plain I reckon.
Thanks to Jules Ive now got a new addiction which is Funkt Fairy Downloads!!
The grid and the gingham (very pale at the top) are from Funky Fairy whilst the polka's are from PinkP, the image is from Digi stamp Boutique and Ive water pencilled him and used brads/eyelets from stash.
Pop over to see the DT's versions which are all great! http://cinspirations.blogspot.com
Ive scanned this image in to attempt a better representation of reality.
Thanks very much for looking and have a lovely Sunday.

New Job for Nephew

Well this week has ended with 3 bits of good news. My youngest Laura has just got engaged, my nephew Martyn has just got a new very challenging job & my hubby Steve is lucky as he is now safe in his job for the time being - no redundancy this month! I made this card for Martyn as he embarks upon a new direction; helping challenged children and I wish him all the very best. I made this using a woodware stamp and colourred with water colour pencils then layered some funky animal print from PP. Rope, brads & eyelets are from stash. This cute stamp may well make more outings as he's quite the cute chimp!
Hope you all gets lots of time to enjoy yoursleves.

Award

Hi,
I haven't been able to be online much in recent weeks so am late in accepting this lovely award from the very talented Teri over at http://teriscraftspot.blogspot.com/. Thank you very much Teri for thinking of me. The thing I like best about this award is that the recipients need to list 10 honest things about themselves. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone's lists on this!!

The t&c's of this award are:
* I must thank the person who gave me this award, list their blog and link to it
* I must list 10 honest things about myself
* I must put a copy of the honest scrap logo on my blog
* I must select 7 other worthy bloggers & list their links
* I must notify the bloggers of their awards

I cannot promise to be able to find 7 recipients as Im aware that most people that I follow have had this award already!
In the meantime 10 things about me:

1) I dont like that folk tale of: Mondays child is fair of face..... I was born on a Wednesday!! There is only 1 day on this tale that is miserable and that's Wednesday!! Well, I didn't stand a chance did I?!!
2) At the age of 10 my needlework was put on display by the local council, it all went downhill from there!!
3) I hate the actions masquerading as customer service in this country these days.
4) I wish I was really good at one thing instead of being mediocre at most things!
5) I adore my two little dogs Poppy & Honey. Poppy thinks she is my baby, she follows me from room to room all day and all night!
6) I wish I could make a choice in less than 2 hours! (Typical Libran!)
7) I always wanted to be a midwife.
8) I was a driving instructor! Quite similar really in that in both jobs it actually paid to be a female!!
9) My Favourite film is The Green Mile and yet I hate sci-fi; hubby says it is sci-fi but I say thats it's 'magic' when the flies come out of his mouth!!! lol
10) I believe in reincarnation only because I figure that next time around it must be my turn to be a size 12?!

I hope Ive brought a smile to your face!

It couldn't happen to a lovelier couple and Im sure they will have a very great future of happiness and love!
Any tips on how do you make a card lovely enough for your own daughter's engagement??!!
Wishing you all a very happy crafting this week!

Donkey Smiles & Candy!

Hi, Ive not been following candy for a while now but on my usual trip around my fav blogs I saw this candy up for grabs by the talented Michelle in Texas who is celebrating 75000 hits and I just HAD to tell you; NOT because of the candy but because Michelle raises miniature donkeys and every saturday she uploads the latest photos. Lately there's been the new arrival of Cali (Ive fallen in love!!) and everyone's waiting with baited breathe for Vicki to have a baby too!

The only reason Ive listed this candy is so that you can have a quick pop over and see Michelles big family! They truly make my weekend! I hasten to add that Michelle's talented also in the cardmaking area and her really beautiful creations are also on her blog!! PLEASE pop over and see her donkeys and her cards!!
Ooooh, I just couldn't resist, Ive added a copy of her photo of baby Cali with her Mum, aren't they just adorable?! Methinks I need to move to US and raise donkeys too!!

Michelle's candy is available until 24th June! Her blog is www.donkeysmiles.blogspot.com

Snippet

Hi, back again! Just wanted to show a snippet of the gorgeous 'Pretty Lola' from Pink Petticoat. Im currently working on these images for cards for both daughters, 8 days apart, this month so will add those after the events but I tested it out first - as you do!
My girls may be close in their birthdays but they are chalk and cheese! My eldest beauty is Steph and she loves turquoise whilst Laura, the younger loves hot carnival colours. Steph is a cool blonde mind you and Laura is a colourful brunette so it does makes sense I guess!
Ive tried to find an image of them both but realising that they may well see it, I have to tread very carefully! Ive already had a finger wagging from Steph when I posted a photo on MY facebook page! Cheek of it!!
Having recently spent a small fortune on pcs, printers and a caravan (as one must!) the very next day we hear that hubbys job is at risk. Oh joy! Only time will tell so I'll carry on cardmaking until then I guess!
Sunny Southampton has only had a 2 minute shower all week yet I hear the weather's not too brill elsewhere in the country. Well, at least thats something good happening here right now!!

Catch Up!

Firstly many thanks to Nina who very selflessly
gives away design images.
This beautiful image is one she made using her 3 gorgeous little girls as inspiration.
She has much more to offer so why don't you hop over to
her blog (link at bottom) and see her Crafting in Croatia blog! Thank you Nina for this lovely image, I left it quite plain and used PP for the papers; buttons, ribbons and bling from stash with 1 of my new Fiskars border punch. Sorry that the photo doesn't do the card enough justice. I need help with my photographing skills! Maybe I should just scan the cards in?!

end of part one!
