A simple guys card!

Hello, here's a simple card for a guy (thought I'd better be pc after all?!).  It's the first time that I've used an image from a Personal Impression set I got last year.  I couldn't quite figure out how to colour dirty blots on the cloth though but never mind, I'll keep trying!  I'm quite pleased as this is the first time that I've managed to leave a piece of clothing as white.  It's always scared me as whenever I see other people's white garments they also look perfectly shaded but I could never do that but I've given it another try.  This is a small A6 size card, not the norm for me hence I couldn't do much with it so I gave it a turn back fold and planted him slap bang in the middle of it!  I used a tiny little sentiment which I overhung also.
Hope you are all having a lovely relaxing Sunday evening.

Pesky Glamour Dust!

Hello, sorry to show another Sophie image but it just fits perfectly for a family birthday I have soon besides, how could I resist her?!  As all followers will now know when I get a bee in my bonnet for a particular image it does tend to appear probably too many times in close succession!
Is it only me with that glamour dust stuff?  Yes, I imagine it probably is!  Without fail everytime I use it, I find it on me for at least 48hours afterwards!  Presently I sit here typing this and I can see a rainbow of little colours twinkling infront of my right eye!!  Aaargh, Ive rubbed my eye, my nose and my face with clean tissue to try to remove it but oh no Keryn, its still there!  Everytime I use it I get reminded very quickly why I haven't used it for many weeks!  lol!  For the eagle eyes amongst you I have used the PaperTake Weekly challenge sketch again for this card!
Wishing you all a very happy weekend what ever you are upto!
Off to catch up with some blogs now, see you later with more cards and no more psychedelic visions from me!?

p.s. other than my face, the glamour dust is on the 4!

One for a little boy!

Hello, just a quick post to show a little card I made for the challenge over at Quixotic Challenges. I coloured a little Forever Friends stamp with PM's and layered it onto nesties.  Used the hearts EF and an offcut of ribbon and a pc generated sentiment.  I am really enjoying the white space at the moment but it will pass soon enough!
I would also like to enter this card into the monotone challenge over at Creative Inspirations.

Simon Says Challenge

Hello, here is a card I have just finished and it will fit into this week's Simon Says Challenge which is vintage and flowers!  They have on offer a fab $25 shopping spree too, so why not go and join in!
Earlier today I'd made a card very similar to this for my MIL to send to a dear old friend who is in hospital and very unwell.  They grew up together as neighbours and I thought this image looked like two young friends. Whenever I make a card I usually make enough for at least 2 others (some would say I do the same when cooking too!) so I began to make up a couple more cards and decided they'd be lovely for Mother's Day.
The free image is from Stampington & Co and I think it lends itself to the beautiful sage papers from pink petticoat.  Previously I'd used silver papers but I like the sage more!  I made the flowers from offcuts using x-cut punches.
Thank you for looking.

I love ProMarkers

Hi, I must be running a temperature as this is the 3rd posting today!  I've had a lovely crafting day today and I've seen the amazing Tim Holtz launching some of his new stuff.  I was lucky enough to get hold of the Paula Pascual clear sentiment stamps so I can't wait for them to arrive now!
This card was made to the recipe over at I love Pro Markers.  It is just their 3rd challenge so why not pop over and have a play too, there's also a 1st place gift of $15 from Simon Says Stamps shop so that's a lovely enticement!
I wanted to incorporate colouring with PM's with some paper piecing, I used an old Woodware stamp and used scraps from my offcuts bags for the red gingham shirt  and the blue spotty tie.  I coloured the blue background card that mounts both images and I coloured and shaded the red tie, the cuffs and the collar.  I used poppy and berry, with denim & cornflower and cool grey 1.
The challenge asked for some stitching so I just HAD to drag my machine up again!!  ha ha ha, like I don't love adding stitching anyway!!
I deliberately tried to keep some white space.

Thanks very much for all of your lovely comments, they make it  all worthwhile.

PTW # 35

Sorry the light isn't good today but here's my card for this week's great sketch over at Papertake Weekly Challenge.  This is Mo's 'Sophie' and she's a tad older than the other little one I used last week.  Ive used some of the gorgeous free papers that came free with CM&P mag, well, they would be great as I've just seen that they are MME!  Very nice!

My best boy

Hi, here is a card I have made for Simon Says Stamp on their PCP colour challenge group.  Its a first for me, I'm on PCP but have never loaded images to join a challenge on there.  Maybe I've just gotten the complete wrong end of the stick?!
This is another super image from Mo, its called 'you're my best boy'.  The colour challenge is to use dark brown, teal and vanilla (cream) but as I've distressed the edges of the cream bazzil it's not quite as cream as it could be!  I played with the tension on my little cards sewing machine as it only does straight and zigzag and I wanted someone a little different.  It's come out a bit like a herringbone (doesn't that take you back to sewing classes at school!).  IRL the teal is actually a rich teal and not the blue that it appears here, sorry!
I'm going to go and try to join the PCP challenge with it now.

Bee Crafty Bear

Hello,  here is a card I've made for the first challenge of a new blog and it's quite appropriate really as I do love my digi's as you may have noticed, the blog is called I love Digi Challenge.  Challenge No.1 is 'Think Pink' and being a fortnightly challenge it gives you plenty of chance to join in.  I chose a poorly bear from Bee Crafty and used pink papers from Pink Petticoat and a tiddly sentiment from Forever Friends.  I love those tiny sentiments as they are the perfect size for a little A6 card.
If like me you like to dabble with the digis then have a peep over at the new Challenge blog and decide if you like what you see.  I wish some more challenges were fortnightly as I just get around to making the card to a recipe only to find Im a day too late to enter it!

Going Green!

Hello,
Firstly I must just apologise for not mentioning Murphy properly, he is a 4mth chocolate Labrador and having just spent the last few hours with him I can honestly say he is a real Andrex pup!  Into everything!  Got himself so exhausted his eyes were hanging down all bloodshot but no, he still wouldn't give in and have a nap!  lol

Here is a card I made last month using the gorgeous George from Ellephantastic.  Ive used papers from PM's The Big One by Clare Curd, MS punch around the page punches, a little pleated white grosgrain ribbon and a sentiment from Anita's completes this card.

Thank you so much for all of your lovely comments, I really really love them!

Baby Grace's 1st Birthday

Hello, here is a little card I made for one of my great nieces who is shortly to celebrate her 1st birthday.  Ive used a gorgeous little image from Mo, I think she captures the little ones so perfectly, altho I think the little one above is a bit older than 1, I still adore her and thought she would be ideal for the card.  I used my new Funky Papercraft Factory CD for the coloured dotty paper, the washed out paper is pink petticoat and the little swatch of patterned pink is from a freebie pad with a card magazine recently.

Valentine's didn't actually happen here after all, come the time we were due to get ready Steve fell quite poorly and went to bed 'just for a quick lie down - I'll be fine in 15mins'  less than 5 mins later the snoring filled the house!!  lol  I was in the candlelit bath with a flute of pink fizz that he'd sorted so I just decided it would be a PJ evening instead!  He got me flowers yesterday though, reduced from the 14th!!  Oh I do hate him working his shifts!!  He got a lovely new watch, which he hasn't taken off yet! lol

Thanks for dropping by!

Hubby's card

Just wanted to post this card Im keeping for Wednesday and also enter it into this week's Penny Black's Saturday Challenge.  I've used a pretty PB stamp 'Cupful of Love' and only used a little red on this quite bare white card.  The ribbon was from my stash which Id been keeping for a special occasion.  Sorry the photo is quite stark, I need to try to make a special photo 'booth'.
I would also like to enter this into Crazy 4 Challenges who are asking for 'red'.  Think this might be ok!

Thanks for calling in, Keryn x

Valentine's Day

Hello, I hope you all are having a lovely day today!  We will be having our Valentine's on Wednesday as DH works weekend nights and it takes him until Wednesday to come round!  Id like to show a card I made for my DD1 to receive from her man, it took me about a week as I know she loves beautiful cards and I was so nervous incase it wouldn't be good enough.  How daft are we?  I'd always declined from making cards for my girls from their chaps as I wanted them to be given really special ones but after seeing the card that one of them got for a xmas one year, I realised that one of mine would have been far better!

I had seen many collaged hearts on blogland for a while now and they always made a statement.  Id seen beaded, flowered, a mix of both and heart shapes used inside and they all looked so beautiful.  The end result came slowly together and I used all of the red paper from my red scraps folder and blinged it slightly with some red stickles and tried a little doodle in black sakura on the plain black layer.

For the inside I wanted to keep it fairly plain so my (hopefully) future son in law could write of his undying love to my girl!  The sentiment is from the wonderful Shaz - (formerly of funky fairies) and I think it was nicely appropriate.

I wanted an elegant envelope so made one using PM's Clare Curds Signature range and a lovely red sheer ribbon.  I hope you like it.

I would like to enter this into this week's challenge over at

WOYWW 03.02.10

Hello,  Of all the htings to nudge me to join in and it's the one that would usually be bottom of my list especially as my desk is such a mess!
I must thank everyone who joins in with this wonderful wacky idea as I've realised that my space isn't all a total mess, just the desk itself!  Not too bad then eh?!

Im trying to work my way through February's family cards and the one infront is one of the freebies of Precious Moments that I got to from Juls (Glitterchick).  There's also an assortment of Mo's images, Madison, Penny Black and Lola Rose ready to be transformed.  And in true Julia style, this week we are pointing the camera to the right of the desk so here is what Ive got.....

This is only half of it, from desk height upwards, I couldn't get it all in but underneath the shelves are 'dolly trolleys' as I call them in which Ive got my wood backed stamps and ink pads along with another one filled with my grooming stuff, hairdryer, mousse, brushes etc etc.

Well, I think I've broken the 'duck' now of being too shy to load posts so thank you ladies for that shove!  I hope to be back later with some proper cards to share.
