What an amazing Lady!

Hello,  I have just come across a truly amazing lady who supports the Alzheimers Society in a very whole hearted way!  She has been doing a daily candy giveaway in an attempt to raise the profile of her fundraising and as a Thank You to the many supporters of her who have kindly donated items for her to sell.
As I say I have only just become aware so have decided to mention her today.
Jude is giving away a totally amazing Candy until 29th October and the more people who enter to win her candy then the more she will add to it.
I am just happy to help pass the word for such a deserving cause but please do pop over to visit Jude's blog as she has the most adorable xmas card on it of Kris Kringle!!

Thank you for popping by!

Craft Stamper Magazine

Back again!  Ive not long followed this mag, it is AB FAB!  I never thought I would enjoy a stamping mag half as much as I did, I can't recommend it highly enough!  If you haven't already seen a copy, have a peep next time you are in a craft shop, you wont be disappointed!

This is my interpretation of the front cover on the August issue.  The actual stamp they used is presently winging it's way across the pond to me but I improvised the image with this lovely corset stamp.  It's a fold back A5 card and I versamarked the image on the inner piece using clear EP to give a subtle interest that can only be found if you look for it - but I haven't loaded a photo of it!

I used:
inks: ink it up violet, turquoise and cranberry
image: Stampendous, beaded bodice
swirls: Hero Arts clear set
stash: clear EP, corner rounder, gel glitter adhesives

Well this is another attempt at distressing and I have to say that if there is one single thing that I can't abide - getting mucky fingers - I am surprisingly thoroughly enjoying myself!!  lol

Well it's a busy birthday weekend now so I wont be about for another wee while but Ive got both girls coming tomorrow morning and staying for the weekend and I can't wait!  It will start at the hairdressers, then off to see a venue set up for a wedding and then to finish off, back to try on the dress that she thinks 'is the one'!!  We all remember what that feels like don't we girls?!

Well I will wish one of my brothers - Bryan and one of my sisters - Jackya very happy day tomorrow.  What on earth was my Mum thinking: having three of us in 2 days!?!

Holiday Snaps - well two!

 Hello,
I had a lovely break at Brean Sands, North Somerset
in our caravan and were away earlier in the month for the whole of that
glorious weather, we were so very lucky!
Here is the sunset on our first night there, it was
gorgeous.  There were miles and miles and sands,
the sea was 3/4 miles out so we only saw it once
despite spending many hours on the sands each day!

The second photo is of our happy little dogs crashed out on Steve after having enjoyed the lovely sands!  Such bliss!

I've had a little break from the cards
and it has been nice, much nicer than
I thought but the downside is that my
confidence was rocked a bit and
I get to thinking that I can't do it!

I will be back in a while as I have managed to
make something that Idlike to share.

Thanks for popping by

Anniversary

Pink overload on this one I think!  I distressed the background using ordinary inks and a natural sponge.  Ive been testing out a variety of items with which to distress as suggested by many of you, thank you for the tips and help, it is all very much appreciated!  I wanted to keep this card quite basic as the colour is strong enough.

I used:
image - PB Cupful of Love
border punch - fiskars threading water
corner detail - sizzix die
leaves - quickutz

flowers, button, rubons - stash

Hope you all have a great week, today we're celebrating DH's birthday and am away on holiday Wednesday to North Somerset, so Ive got my fingers crossed for some dry weather!!

Boys Rock!

Hello again,  I just had to return to post 2 boys cards.   I used the great 'Skater' image from my friend Claire's new shop.
Please pop over, I promise, you wont be disappointed!  She has allsorts of images for all sorts of tastes and she is adding more by the day (that may be a slight fib but there's more there now than when I bought the skater!)

http://hopejacare.blogspot.com
I am going for the kill now, oh what the heck and am going to enter this/these cards into the Allsorts challenge which is 'male themed'.  Just as well it covers adolescents too!  www.allsortschallenge.blogspot.com
www.aspoonfulofsugarchallenge.blogspot.com

Thanks Pinky for letting me know about this challenge!  This week it is 'distressing'.

Ive distressed both PP with inks, scrumpled it up and inked a bit more so that it caught on the creases.  I inked the brown card after it was embossed, added a layered sentiment, hessian 'ribbon' and personalised them both.

Ive coloured the images with watercolour pencils then added some sheen and gloss.

Well, I hope the two 12yr olds that Ive made these for think that they are ok!  I really enjoyed making them.

Just before I go I just have to apologise regarding my lack of previous links.  I have just found a setting on Blogger that was not allowing them to link.  I can't begin to tell you how frustrating it has been for me for so many months!!  lol  I usually get there in the end!  Im more the tortoise than the rabbit!

Thank you for calling in!

Distressed? You will be!!

Hello, during my pc enforced absence I was quite busy so I wanted to share with you some of the cards that I made.
Here is a Pearl Anniversary card I was asked to make. I decided to try the 'vintage' - 'distressed' style and this is the result! I hope Sheila and Sue aren't laughing too loud!? I thoroughly enjoyed getting mucky and had a wonderful time! I used Funky Fairy pp, some irridescent ivory paper, QK: butterfly, initials, swirls, numbers & heart, CB script embossing folder and the 'ribbon' was found last month in the sale at Hobbycraft for a massive reel for only 99p! Stick on pearls also from HC.
I tried the 'spongey' application of two shades of ink, versamarked some Hero Arts swirls and finished with some glimmer mist in irridescent gold.
So, in all it was 2 firsts for me, distressing the pp and shimmer misting!
Id love to know what the best sponge is to use so if you have any tips, Id love to hear them!

Hope you like my little creation and Ive had a wonderful day catching up with blogs and Ive only got to Sunday! Im going to thoroughly enjoy the rest of the week catching up with everything else!
September 1st already with autumn around the corner!

Thanks for looking
