Distressed? You will be!!
Hello, during my pc enforced absence I was quite busy so I wanted to share with you some of the cards that I made.
Here is a Pearl Anniversary card I was asked to make. I decided to try the 'vintage' - 'distressed' style and this is the result! I hope Sheila and Sue aren't laughing too loud!? I thoroughly enjoyed getting mucky and had a wonderful time! I used Funky Fairy pp, some irridescent ivory paper, QK: butterfly, initials, swirls, numbers & heart, CB script embossing folder and the 'ribbon' was found last month in the sale at Hobbycraft for a massive reel for only 99p! Stick on pearls also from HC.
I tried the 'spongey' application of two shades of ink, versamarked some Hero Arts swirls and finished with some glimmer mist in irridescent gold.
So, in all it was 2 firsts for me, distressing the pp and shimmer misting!
Id love to know what the best sponge is to use so if you have any tips, Id love to hear them!
Hope you like my little creation and Ive had a wonderful day catching up with blogs and Ive only got to Sunday! Im going to thoroughly enjoy the rest of the week catching up with everything else!
September 1st already with autumn around the corner!
Thanks for looking
Keryn x

Wow Keryn ! This is fantastsic ! If this is your first go at distressing you've done it brilliantly. The sponges I use are the ordinary artists sponge that you can pick up for 3 for 99p. I saw some other sponges in The Range this week and they had pieces of natural sponge which would give you a different effect again. Sue x
gorgeous! Love the pearlised paper and the gorgeous embossed detail of the heart and the swirls!! love it!
lovely Keryn, glad you had fun getting mucky! Sue is a master at it, I've been in her craft room!
It's a beautiful card, you've done a great job of it

A beautiful card Keryn - distressing in a kind way - it's lovely! Cheers Claire x
This is gorgeous Keryn, such a pretty colour and I love your distressing. Hope you are going to enter it in the Spoonful of Sugar challenge as they want to see distressing this week!

Oh my goodness......why would I laugh? It's absolutely gorgeous......well done you.
My favourite applicator for inks, chalks, paints or whatever is good old cotton wool balls. I just find them more controlable than sponges. Sometimes I use baby wipes as an applicator too. It just depends on the size of the area I need to cover.
Keep up the great work.
Hugs

Hi Keryn
Loving your card - as I am sure the recipients will.
Your distressing is brilliant. It looks way better than when I try LOL!!!
I love all the details and your gorgeous butterfly!
Love Jules xx
beautiful keryn! love the distressing and the gorgeous butterfly hugs mx
Hi Keryn, I love your card, it's distressed to perfection :) The butterfly and swirl are so pretty and the colour scheme and your sponging look wonderful. I use a cheap bath sponge cut up to do my sponging but it works a treat. Hope you have a great weekend. Chris x
Hi again Keryn, I just noticed in your previous post that you've had bad computer probs. Sorry to read about that, it's an epidemic at the moment! I just wanted to say that if you want the files you bought from me I can send them to you again, no problem, just let me know. Chris x
