Cards for the boys!

Hello,  it's been quite nippy here today as I found out when I had to pop out to get a few essentials for tonight's Burns night meal.  Hubby is scottish so I always celebrate it with him, apparently he's never eaten so much haggis since he's met me!  Actually come to think of it, I do feel a bit like a haggis at the moment!  I've gained a bit too much weight since xmas but that will all be a thing of the past next week when we start our new 'lifestyle' (4 letter word omitted for the sensitive!)  The main thing is that he enjoyed his Burn's supper and his 'wee dram'!

Here is a card I made with my bargain stamp.  I got it online for a tiddly £1.99!  And it's perfect for the older male cards that I struggle so much with.  It is Personal Impressions and is from the Beryl Peters Collection.

I've used a Funky Hand paper which I think is just pefect for men.

Here is a card I made for my great nephew's birthday tomorrow.  I used a fab image by my friend Claire which I think is also great for those who love the Harry Potter stories and of course Halloween!

I hope I have done him enough justice!  It took me a couple of days of playing around to get a result that I was happy enough with, you know what it's like when some things just seem to scream out 'NO, NO, NO'!  Or maybe it's just me!  lol!

Thank you very much for calling in, I can't say how lovely it is to read all of the comments that you so kindly leave me.
I've got quite an anxious day tomorrow and maybe soon I will be able to discuss further but not right now.  I just hope I can sleep.

Madison

Hello, I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend.  Mine has been good, my eldest DD arrived yesterday with what seemed like 20 rolls of fabric that we needed to convert into skirts for the school production.  Just to explain, she is a teacher who when reading an internal email asking for some help with sewing for the yearly school production she volunteered.  Thinking it would be a little hand sewing on some sequins and such.  I then get an email that went something like this: Mum help!  What have I got myself into, can I come round this Saturday so we can make up some skirts!
A lot of yesterday was spent making up these skirts, each with 3 panels and elasticated waists, nothing difficult and I got both sewing machines up so we were both busy.  From the 2 big bags full of material we made 9 skirts, it doesnt sound much but it sure looked enough once they were neatly piled up!
Luckily she is leaving that school so it will have been my 1st and last time as a costume maker!  The ladies on Strcitly Come Dancing who make all of those stunning costumes are safe - I wont be getting their job!  lol

Onto cards.  Here are a couple of cards I made using images from Charmed Cards and Crafts.  The 1st is Madison - ooh la la.

This is Madison - so chic!  It's the first time that I've used either of these images as Ive not really felt that I had the occasion to use them before but I just went for it!  Blimey, I live on the edge!  lol!

The last image I used from CCC is Madison - goes to the Ball.  I made an easel card for my nephew's wife and she's a really lively and fun girl so I hope she likes it!
All images were PM'd and all patterned papers are from Pink Petticoat.

Have a good week,

Keeping in Touch

I can't claim to have done any of this in recent weeks but I hope it is all sorted now!
Here is a card I made at the start of the month, I used a super image from Graphics Fairy .  I think they look really sweet and I used a soft silver grey backing paper from Pink Petticoat finishing it off with some retro flowers.  I found out that the little sentiments that I'd been using lately are by Anita's!

Some of the flowers were punched from white sparkle card and the mat and the leaves are from Bazzill card.

Beware, I am totally hooked on easel cards so you may get bored!  This fab image was a freebie image from the great Ellephantastic shop.  Click on the link to go have a look at all of the fab things there!
He was coloure with PM's and the papers are PP, die cuts - Quickutz and a pc generated sentiment.

Thank you so much for all of your lovely comments and emails: I just need to clarify about the 'bespoke' desk I turned down from DH.  It would have ended up as a HE-spoke desk and probably wouldn't suit all of my needs and I figuref that the mess, aggro and disruption might not be actually worth losing my little scrapheap table for!  lol
My wallpaper is from The Range and is still available as are the voiles!  Yes, The Range!  I like nice things but since not working my purchases need now to reflect my new budget!

Hope you've enjoyed your visit today!

Oh no, more pc probs :(

Hello peeps,
I must apologise for my absence which has been due to severe pc problems.  For over 2 weeks I'd been having huge problems trying to log onto the internet and if I did get on then it would freeze or crash.  Desperation was not the word I can tell you!
After a short but very expensive stay at a 'puter hospital it arrived home but still had the same problems.  You can imagine what DH was saying after finding out we had 2 hard drive failures which needed to be replaced.
Anyway, after a new router, new cables etc etc I think, fingers crossed that I may be back online and I look forward to catching up with you all very soon.

I hope you are all well & I look forward to seeing you soon.

WOYWW aaaargh!

Hello,  I hope you aren't being too disrupted by all of the snow.  It looks so beautiful but can cause such havoc!  I notice we haven't heard much about global warming lately!?  I'm still not sure what part of our country is suffering from that!

What's on Your Workspace Wednesday: I've followed
Julia's blog for a while now and am always amazed at how brave everyone is to show their private little spaces that they create in.  I've always wanted to participate but have never had a clean enough space do be able to do so with only a smallish amount of shame on my part!  Now that the workspace is inbetween cards I thought I'd join in.  It was only when looking over the photo's that I realised what a mess it all still is!!  lol  Still, it's all paid for and it's mine so I don't mind too much!

Well I've done it now, I've added the photo's of half of my little work space.  DH keeps offering to make me a bespoke workspace but I keep declining as I rather like being able to make a huge mess on my reclaimed vintage table and know that I'm not ruining it plus the fact that it is a gate leg table so it can fold virtually flat and it disappear against the wall ready for when my DD's stay for the night.
As always I actually only end up with a very small space with which to make eveything, even that craft mat disappears under the mass of things!  On my desk Ive got a set of 8 cards I've made and am waiting to make a suitable package for them, I've got a new male stamp that's not long arrived and I'm hoping to use shortly along with some new sheets of Basic Grey that I'm looking forward to using too.

Thanks for dropping by!

PTW #31

Happy Monday,
It is very chilly here but bright and sunny so after posting this I am going to try to take my dogs for a quick walk as I believe the weather is due to become wet tomorrow.  My little girls don't like the wet, they stand there like a lizard lifting one leg off the ground at a time to try to keep dry!  It does make me laugh as they look so sorry for themselves!

I am entering this card into 2 challenges today; the first being
PaperTake Weekly Challenge #31.  It is a great sketch by the sketch queen herself, Dawny P!  I love her sketches they are so clean and unfussy but thats just my personal opinion!

The second challenge I'd like to enter this into is
Cupcake Challenge # 72; they are simply asking for a baby card.  How lovely and straight forward is that and it makes a nice change from the 'new' that's flavour of the week at the moment everywhere else!
It was my first inking up of this cute little Stampavie stamp.  I saw it online and just fell in love with it as I thought it would cover a few areas in one.  I do like multi-purpose buys as then I dont feel quite so guilty!

I used:
image - Stampavie - Garden Bears
coloured by - PM's
base CS - The Papermill
glitter cs - Gemstones

pp - Pink Petticoat and Funky Fairy
sentiment - bought as 3 A4 sheets in the Range (sorry, I bin the packaging but will check)

Oh well, it's still sunny so I really must go and get my little girls out - I've tried putting it off for as long as I can!  Just to say, its not that I dont like walking them it's just that my back is very bad at the moment so walking the dogs and using a walking stick and having icy ground is no fun!

Thank you for  looking and I hope you are all keeping lovely and warm!

Another challenge

Ive made this card as part of a set of 8 which will be given to a friend for her birthday in a week or two.  She loves vintage and I wanted to use up some of these images that I picked up on holiday in June in Devon.  They were in a little card shop and I trimmed them down a tiny bit so they would fit an A6 card.
I'm entering this into the challenge over at Moving Along With The Times (MAWTT) they are asking you to make your selection from all of their previous challenges so I have opted for #22 which was a sketch.

I just wanted to Thank everyone for their amazing comments this weekend, I have so enjoyed reading them all; they've really made me smile!
Thanks so much for taking the time to pop in!

I used:
image - obtained in card shop, artist not known
papers -  Pink Petticoat - small swirls
cs - the Papermill
big brads - Papermania

Part 2

Now I have a card I have made for 2 challenges today; Allsorts & Get Funky .  Both of these challenges have a Funky feel! Go check it out!

Allsorts have a great sketch to follow and you are to use either your new stash or your old!  I've hit both with one stone here as the paper and the image were already on my pc but I'd never used either of them before!  The image has no details with it other than MJBee and I bought 3 images from them but I can't for the life of me remember what their proper trading name is and it's not on the images.  If anyone can enlighten me, please do!
The papers are freebies from Funky Hand which are just gorgeous colours and having the pink in really lifted the green for me.  I think they are just beautiful.

ETR - digi image is from Bee Crafty, thank you Ruth :-)
Sentiments are from Anita's

Card is from The Papermill, tiny brads from stash and sentiment is from The Range (not sure of the manufacturer though :( )

Challenge cards; part 1

Hello, I'm starting the way I hope to be able to continue, by listing more cards!
I'm going to load a couple of cards I've made of recent days and actually remembered to photgraph!  I've sent 5 already, not even 1 photo between them!

My first card is for Charisma Cardz it is to celebrate their 1st Birthday.  They are having a blog hop and it is actually the first one I have ever completed and entered!  Why not pop over and join in also, it is open for another few days yet and they have loads of lovely candy on offer!

For this card I used images sent to me by Claire, I paper pieced the images which set the colour theme.  Again it's an easel card and I used my brand new stamp frofm Hero Art's - tickets, papers are from Funky Fairy, stars and 'wish' are quickutz, sentiment pc generated, nesties & pearlised brads from stash.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everyone!  Had a lovely quiet night in with hubs and a chinese take away, thought we may as well as the 4 letter swear word starts next week!  Steve's only just up oyt of bed from having a terrible tummy bug and a nastychest infection, hence he's on the hard stuff tonight of Beechams and coke!  That's first for my hardy Scot!

We had a lovely quiet Christmas on our own and then they all descended on Boxing Day; 2 daughters, 2 fellas and 2 puppies!!  My Poppy spent most of it muzzled bless her, she doesn't take to 'new' dogs very quickly so I didn't want to take any chances.  She looked like Hannibal Lecter in her muzzle and she looked so very sorry for herself!  The daughters et al are presently near Padstow celebrating a special birthday and NY.

I'm always last with anything but it was worth the wait; easel cards!  I just LOVE them and before I get sworn at for posting a christmas card I just need to explain that I couldn't show it before as have had camera troubles.

Here is Mo's gorgeous little Holly Fairy, I made one each for my daughters.

Thank you for popping by and for all of the lovely comments you have left me since I began this journey last Spring.  I've had a really wonderful time blog hopping and been inspired by so many wonderfully talented ladies out there, please, keep up the excellent work!  I look forward to posting more cards this year and continuing my blog hopping to see what you have all been up to.

I need to offer a 'nod' toward Claire who first coloured this super fairy in a red dress!
