Recycling mistakes!

The base card was originally used on the red wedding card but when I put the sentiment on with brads, I realised it was lopsided!!! Aaaaargh! I started again and made the red wedding card and was left with this.
With the careful placement of the tab (with a very hard to see sentiment on) I managed to solve the problem!
This image is Juliet from the 'Girl about Town' set from Charmed Cards & Craft. Im not too sure that the dark pink shopping bag particularly goes well with the red theme so will need to be more attentive next time!
Hope you like my attempts and thanks very much for looking :D

Papertake Weekly Challenge

Hello, Ive often seen the Papertake Weekly Challenge mentioned by so many crafters and had never actually come across it myself until I was blog hopping and admired Chrissie's entry over at www.simply-one-of-a-kind.blogspot.com. I was then on a mission to check it out for myself. Here is my version of this weeks sketch by Dawny P. Ive made a card for the son of a friend and used the Jolly Nation decoupage on top of pink petticoat papers. Rub ons by doodlebug.
The inspiration over at www.papertakeweekly.blogspot.com is great, each of the DT's cards are gorgeous so pop over if you haven't been yourself. I definitely will be back!

Stamp Something Challenge

Hi, I saw the challenge over at Stamp Something which was 'simply thank you' in homage to Lauren who's style is simple, modern elegance.
I'd just opened my latest arrival from Crafts u Love which were a few new QK dies. The damask was the 1st one I grabbed and went straight to work on this challenge.
I layered black and white linen paper, scalloped the edge then die cut the damask from black pearlised card.
My only thank you stamp is one of the tiny ones from Studio g which fit perfectly inside the centre of the damask shape. It was embossed in black and then filled in with white gelly roll.
It took 24 photos to try to get a half decent shot of this and was almost going to give up when one seemed to be a bit better then the rest and when tested on a post, it was fine. Well, as fine as you can expect with a black on black image!
Hope you like me attempt at 'no frills' simplicity!

Dare you to Digi Stamp Challenge 7

Hi, This is my first challenge in a while and I couldn't resist the request of a digi stamp and lemon & lilac over at www.dareu2digistamp.blogspot.com
I used the Lizzie stamp from Digi Stamp Boutique and pieced her dress from pink petticoat paper. All papers from PP and its the first time Ive used my QK big flower (lilac) and Im not all together sure if it works or not, I wonder if it is too big?
If I can use Mr Linky (which I doubt!!) I will attempt to add it to their challenge, failing that I wont!!! I will put this card aside for Post Pals so that when I have enough I will send a few off to them.

Weddings

Back again! The red option is a card I was asked to make for a couple who are getting married this month in Disneyland. I wanted to still keep the card about their marriage so only wrote Disney on the side just as a hint. The red heart is velvet and was cut on my QK. The PP is pp, layered red is Bazzill along with red mirri. Small red brads secured the sentiment. The image is my first use of a lovely Stampendous stamp I bought in January and only now got around to using.
I liked it so much I stamped up a couple more and chose violet as an alternative; using another new Stampendous stamp on the card in matching ink. The sentiment reads Congratulations and is a rub on by Pebbles Inc. I just wanted to try some bolder colours for these wedding cards and of course its a world away from the bitter chocolate Im using now on my current wedding stationery, it made a lovely change!
Im told by my printer hubby that certain shades of rich blue/indigo/violet cannot ever reflect their true colours when being photographed and Im definitely finding it to be true as I had to take about 20 shots of the violet one and even the one I chose isnt an exact match to reality!

Hi,

Ive just added the Anniversary card I made for my brother & sil. Ive decided to stop feeling guilty for using Pink Petticoat so much as I just love them. I realised that there are so many blogs out there and a theme runs through them so Im happy now!

The image if from Digi-Boutique and the papers are all PP. This was my first attempt at paper piecing and although it took so many attempts (because of my fiddly printer) Im pleased with it and will give it another go!

They really aren't a frilly fussy pair so I chose to keep
the colours simple but striking.

Unfortunately the photo quality is poor but Ive read on some blogs that they scan their images in so Im going to give that a try and see if it gives better results!

I'll be back with another couple of cards soon.

Handbag Gift Voucher Holder

Hi, I have made this to use as a gift card holder for my special SIL's birthday on Saturday. Shes been so amazing to me over recent years with my health issues. I wouldn't be here now if not for her.
The image top right is the box it comes in, then you can see the bag itself with the sentiment inner peeping out; I will put her GV in there.
Ive chosen her favourite colour of soft lilac and decorated it with lilac and a little pink and have used my newest liquid pearls and stickles.
This is from my fav online shop - pink petticoat again Im affraid but this is just a break from wedding stationery that Im working on.

PostPals Plea

Hi, Could all you lovely cardmakers please help. Pop over to this site to fully understand what PostPals is all about http://www.postpals.co.uk/. Thanks to Lyn at http://mickeysmate.blogspot.com for highlighting this to me. PostPals is a charity run by volunteers who help to put a smile on the face of very poorly youngsters. Please please pop over and see their site, it really made me think.

All that is asked is that anyone makes and sends a card to a sick child at the c/o address on the site. Im sure Im not alone in wanting to do even a tiny thing such as sending a card to one of them.

On Lyns blog she says that one of the challenge groups is helping out so please either join them or send direct, either way would you please pass this forward so these poorly children can have smiles on their faces from all of us cardmakers.

PostPals also have a plea at the moment for them to try to win £500 for their Summer Party from local newspapers and us sending a simple text (costing 50p plus usual network charge) can make the difference between them getting the cash or not! The details are on the 'News' section on the website.

Thanks so much for reading this.

Coral Wedding Anniversary

Stressed was not the word yesterday when making these cards! There was some confusion over the date they were needed for and it turned out that I had a day to make these. A day seems a long time to most of you excellent card makers but to me it was stressful as I was aware that one card was for the husband to give to his wife! I know how I'd feel if my hubby gave me a cruddy card!! I'm really loving the FF celebration stamp as its so useful for so many occasions! I didnt touch any Pink Petticoat for that card so thats a 1st for a long time!! lol It was PaperMania - Flowery, image was layered on Bazzill - Papaya & I printed a message on the vellum then tore it and secured with brads. Made the flower to match & blinged slightly with a touch of Rhinestone stickles.
The 'Wife' card was Pink Petticoat image and pp. Used QK for the tag & scrolls and used chalk to soften the edges.
TFL!
