Ground Hog Day!

Hello,

This fortnight at the Christmas Card Club my teamie Clare set the challenge of making a set of cards!  Just what we all need at this time of year so it was an ingenious idea!  It coincided with my eldest asking me for some sets of festive cards for her to raise some money for the charity she works for so I was set a challenge for sure!

This set was made using Penny Black's Fir Tree with black and teal papers by Pink Petticoat and Aimee Ascher.  I make the girls a set each year and the other set was made in hot pink and black.

This is a set made with toppers from The Range, 3 sets of 6 cost £1 so they went straight into my basket obviously!  The papers are by Pink Petticoat.

These last 3 sets are all tiny 4" squares using Pink Petticoat xmas images and papers.  I wont bore you with anymore all as Ive made 200 in all!

Im now off to see what the rest of the team have made.  If you'd like to join up with us next year to help give you an incentive to make a few cards ready for xmas throughout the year then please just ask any of us that are listed on my sidebar!

Thanks for calling in and have a super week!

My Favourite Flower 2

Hello,

Is it me or did Blogger eat up my post from yesterday?!  I'll do it again and keep my fingers crossed this time!!

Here is my card for the current challenge over at Delicious Doodles which is called Remembrance.  I absolutely love Teri's pencil drawings so decided to leave the image untouched.  I layered it onto some Pink Petticoat Brocade in cream and matted with plain black.

Poppies are simply my most favourite flower.  I love the Californian Poppies also that pop up in the tubs in my garden every summer and I remember once planting seeds of an Oriental Poppy.  I watched and waited with baited breathe as this huge great stem grew daily to such a height.  It opened into a single huge poppy which was stunning but it only lasted one day!  The very next day the petals reach began to drop!  I mean, it took weeks to get to full height and finally opened into such beauty and then it was all gone after just one day!  Needless to say, I didnt plant anymore thereafter!

I just couldnt resist not using a little red somewhere so I made a couple more!

Please do call in with a card for our challenge using remembrance/thinking of you as the theme, I would really love you to join me!

Recycled Christmas

Hello,

Its time again for another Christmas Card Club challenge and this fortnight it was set by Hazel.  She asked for us to use up some of the crafty freebies and/or recycle something on our card.
I have to admit I wasn't looking forward to this as I thought Id struggle but in fact once I got the idea in my head I was flying!

With the box from a hair dye I die cut the sentiment and I stamped on the reverse of the backing card that came with a free set of stamps on a craft mag.

I also used the free stamps and papers from another free set for this card so Im feeling pretty smug with my recycling/freebie effort!!

Thanks Hazel for a great challenge!  Our new challenge is being set by Clare so watch out for another xmas card in two weeks, if not before!

Id like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz - Cutesy

Hope you're all having a super weekend!

Special Birthday Card

Hi again,

Here's a boxed card that Ive made specially for Steve's Mum who will soon be 80.  She doesn't like nostalgic or vintage themes so I wanted something special enough but quite simple so started scoring on my MS board!

Ive used Tim Holtz Tattered Florals, QK alphabet, butterfly, label  and flourish dies with 2 golden brads.

Id like to enter this card into the following challenge

For Fun Challenge - a special birthday card

Kathys Waffle November Sketch

Hello,

A new month and a new sketch over at Kathys Waffle please do come on over and have a go too!

Here is the sketch

My version of Kathys Sketch is a very loose interpretation as Ive used Teri's beautiful rose as the central circle.  Some pretty lacy ribbon as my square behind and I finished off with a few off cuts of grosgrain ribbon.
I hope you like my version of this and it does seem that I am in a lilac phase right now - it might be more to do with trying to use up the papers Ive already printed off!

The most wonderful time of the year!

Hello,

I survived the spooks of the little trick or treaters last night and was completely cleaned out of goodies!  Our 3 dogs should be hoarse today from all of the noise they made last night but I fear they are not!

]
Isn't he just adorable?  This image is from Pollycraft, the papers are by Pink Petticoat, the sentiment is a freebie Polka Doodles stamp (with a craft mag).  Ive used the sketch from Sunday Sketch & Stamp and Id like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Pollycraft Monday Challenge - anything goes
Ooh la la! - stitching

What's your poison?

Good morning campers!

What's my poison?  Im not partial to anything drink wise so I'd have to say a nice skinny cappuccino!

The new challenge over at Delicious Doodles is Good or Evil - you choose!
For this challenge I opted for the Evil side of things for a change and have used Teri's Sparkling Cyanide!

Ive made this for a particular male relative and although it really is far removed from the usual male cards that Ive made before, I quite like it for a change!

Enjoy your weekend!

Poorly Stella!

Hello,

Here's a little set I made using Bugaboo's Stella.

I made the papers to match the shocking pink colour scheme as I wanted something fun and vibrant!  I made a Bagelope and filled it with things that I thought might make a hospital stay a bit more bearable: lip salve, hand cream, dry shampoo, nail files and a body spray!  A definite change from the traditional grapes!

Star Dance

Morning!

Here is my xmas card using this fab sketch from teamie Lizzie.

I really enjoyed working to her sketch and produced this:

and this is a close up of some of the glittery detail!

This was the first inking of this pretty stamp called Star Dance by Penny Black, I used papers by Pink Petticoat in Air Force Blue, a border punch of snowflakes by Martha Stewart and a little layer of coloured mirri card.

I liked doing this one so much that I did this:

Colourways of Envy and Goldenrod too!  Sadly I pressed the wrong button when sorting the photoshop and they are a tad darker on the photo.

Our next challenge has been set by Hazel and it is to use something received freely or recycle something!  We will be posting these on Sunday 6th November.

Thanks for your visit!

Kathy's Waffle October Sketch

Morning,

Here's our current sketch for this month.  I don't know about you but I always struggle to make the main feature a circle so I knew I'd have fun with this one!

I used a beautiful image from Digital Tuesday which I coloured with a few Polychromos.  I used 'Berries' xmas paper by Pink Petticoat, a couple of borders from my Silhouette & some Quickutz holly dies.

Being only half way through the month it would be great if you could come and play too!  I'd love to see your take on Kathys Sketch!

Thanks for your visit,

Cauldron girl

Hello,

A little card here for our neighbours little girl.  She's about 5 and loves to call on local houses all dressed up with her Mummy at Halloween.

The free pp is from Donna at Bearly Mine Designs, I embossed the black card with a brick wall effect EF, the web and bats were cut from the Silhouette and the super little image was also a freebie from Bugaboo.

Id like to enter this card into a new challenge site I found via Bugaboo, Stamptacular Sunday Chaellenge and this week it is 'You Choose'.

Thanks for calling in,

Crafty Sisters!

Good morning!

The sun is shining and its a beautiful day here, have to say Autumn has always been my favourite season but this really lovely weather makes it even better!

Long post warning!

Look what I got in the post

I was sooo surprised to open this yesterday as I thought it was some double sided tape (as thats all Id ordered in weeks!) so you can imagine my joy at seeing it all beautifully wrapped in hot pink tissue paper!
Starting top left Ive got my own wet wipe cover - with poppy, a beautiful poppy brooch, a fat pin cushion (I like fat!) and a super needle wrap (thats the wrong name but my meds are playing with my brain right now and I cant think of the proper name?!) oh and did I mention, thats got a red poppy on it too!
I had a lovely time yesterday moving my sewing kit over to its nice posh new home and Ive sat looking at them for quite some time too!  Far too much time to admit to anyway so now youd like to know who they came from?

The only crafty sisters I know and they are Annie & her sister Jo, they are my surrogate crafting sisters, Ive adopted them but dont let on!
Jo had been busy holding the fort at Sisters Crafty Creations along with so many Dresses for Africa, craft fayres and beautiful knits for her great nephews and nieces.  And the reason she's been extra busy lately is because Annie's become a Nannie again three times over in little over 3 weeks!  If you hop on over to either blog you will see beautiful photos of the newest additions.
Here's something Ive been making through the summer for the babies

Thank You Annie and Jo for my super birthday present - with poppies!

Have a super weekend everyone, will be back soon with some cards!

Halloween with no orange!

Hello crafters!

I am aching all over and my back is really playing up as we had my youngest with her fella and dog visit us last night for dinner and it was lovely, late but lovely!  I forgot to put the chicken in the oven until 5.45 and it was biggish & took 2hrs to cook:(
It was so late and I was flapping a fair bit but the meal was lovely and I made an Autumn crumble for dessert (apples, pear, plums and a hint of ginger!) which also went down very well.

Anyway, here is my card for this fortnights challenge over at Delicious Doodles Challenge which is 'Halloween with no orange!'  It was harder than I thought so I went with an almost monotone scheme.

I used Pumpkin Witch and Witchy sentiment with a lovely spooky paper by my very talented teamie Pascale and they are free so please do pop on over to her blog and say 'hi!'  I used my Silhouette for the cobweb and railing and was really pleased with how they turned out!

Blogland will soon be full of Halloween makes so why not join in and have a play with a twist - no orange!  Id really love to see you!

Have a beautiful weekend everyone!

Autumn Leaves

Hello,

I need to make a few cards for my own use, it seems really weird saying that as us card makers are usually busy making for everyone else and often we forget our own needs!  Anyway, for inspiration I used the current challenge over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp and used some gorgeous papers from Pink Petticoat in tangerine   The image is Hero Arts Large Blossom and I used a variety of autumnal inks on it.  I finished it off with a few leaves punched from scraps using my X-Cut punch.
Id like to enter this card into their challenge.

The next photo still makes me laugh when I see it!

Amber idea of a cracking friday night!!

Hope you have a super week,
Keryn x

CCC 09.10.11 Claires Challenge

Hello,

Here's the card I made using the brief from Claire for this fortnights challenge which was: Silver & Blue with embossing.

The gorgeous digi image is a freebie from Kim over at Cuddly Buddly.  Join up to her newsletter and you will be able to get hold of the latest offers too.  She has decided that with so many digis in her archives, rather than them disappearing she would offer them for free as money is so tight for us all at the moment.  Thank You Kim, thats really lovely of you.
Im sure you will agree that Penguin Post is a super little chappie!
I spritzed the background - and have blue and silver ink everywhere now!  I used a Sizzix EF and some scraps for the snowflakes to finish it off.

I loved that challenge Claire, thanks!  The lovely Lizzie is setting a sketch challenge for the next fortnight so if you click on her name on my sidebar over the coming few days, you can see it and join in too!

Thanks for your visit today,

Doesnt time fly....

when you're having fun!?!  It has been like Manic Central here over the past couple of weeks; had a super birthday with so many beautiful hand made cards from so many special blogging friends, Thank You and went away for a week to Devon with hubby and the 3 dogs for a week to enjoy the gorgeous sunshine and  have a chill out.  However, this is what I was faced with on Day 2 of the holiday

Who's idea was it to get white dogs?!
And for those without dogs, its badger muck all over her!  Needless to say she had a very long and thorough shampoo and condition after this was taken!

The sights weren't all so bad last week

This is Sidmouth basking in lots of glorious sunshine and temperatures of 26'

and proof that good things can come in small packages - well, when she's asleep anyway - here is Amber, dog tired!

I hope you are all well and that Clare your op on your kidney stones is a massive success tomorrow!
Take care,
Keryn x

New Beginnings

Hello,

Id like to share this card with you as it is a special one for me.  Recently I was asked by Kathy if Id like to join her team on her Sketch blog and I was so surprised and really pleased to join the team.
Here is the September sketch:

and this is my side on version of it!

This card is for one of my Sisters who has her birthday next month, Ive used a Lily of the Valley image very kindly sent to me at the start of this year by my special friend Claire - she just loves it when I say that!!

If you get the chance Id love you to hop on over to Kathys Waffle Sketch and join in with this September sketch before the end of the month!  I'd love to see your take on the sketch!

Have a super day, Keryn x

Cute as a Button!

Hello,

Im really enjoying the latest edition of 'Simply Homemade'!  What do you think of it?
I love that it's just packed with such a variety of crafts and Im finding it makes me twitch as I read it as I want to go and start making things!

Here's my DT card for our new challenge over at Delicious Doodles, it's  caused quite a stir I have to tell you!  I think Im one of the few that found it really easy so I sat down to enjoy my crafting to make a super little card using buttons.  During this process I found out that my printer (the expensive one that hubby 'suggested' I buy about 18mths ago) had died and gone to Printer Heaven.  JUST what I didnt need I can tell you so I set about making my card without anything freshly printed off!

This isnt the card I had in my head but needs must so I did as best as I could.  If you fancy joining us this fortnight in showing us how you enjoy to use buttons on your cards then please call in and have a go!

Just 6 days to go until the little Pocket Rocket gets her first walk and I cant wait!  Oh, her micro-chipping caused quite some concern as she wasnt impressed at the time, obviously, but for about 24hrs afterwards she was crying anytime she moved :(   She is perfectly fine now though!

Have a great weekend, see you soon.

Fizzy Flowers

Good morning!

Here's a card Ive made using a gorgeous little image from Fizzy Moon that was sent to me by Lizzie, thanks Lizzie I love it!  Ive used mainly Copics with a few PM's to colour him and the bps are from Aimee Ascher (Love) and Pink Petticoat (Kraft).  The sentiment is by Stampin' Up add a strip of raffia ribbon, 3 card candies and Im done!

Ive followed the current challenge over at Sketch & Stash and the sketch Ive chosen to use is this one
as you can chose which sketch you wish to use from their previous challenges. The stash of mine which is old is the raffia ribbon and the newest was the image.

Here's the image from yesterday that I mentioned!

The bed is about 24" round and why all three squeeze into it I dont know especially as there's another bed by the side of it lying empty!
Amber's got her second jab tomorrow and the microchipping but Im very nervous about the chipping as she's got no spare flesh on her and the 'gun' they use is quite big.  The Vet even said to bring a treat in for her (after the amount they charge you'd think they could afford one treat per animal wouldnt you??) as she wont like it!  When my other two were done they were older and had grown much more than this little titch so Im not looking forward to it.
Thanks for your visit,
Keryn x

Snowman with an appendix scar :/

Morning!

Im feeling quite chipper today or should I say, at the moment as all three girls are curled up asleep in one little bed behind me and it is BLISS!

Today's card for our Christmas Card Club is this one:

This poor chap has been in the wars, all together now: aaaaahhhh!  You see he was all perfect after my first photo of him and then, as you will all know, trying to get a decent photo of white on white with silver mirri card was difficult so I knew I had to take lots and after the first shot my camera dropped, right on his belly!  I cant think of anything to disguise it so maybe he will have to be a scrap heap snowman!
Anyway, this challenge was set by Margaret and because of Pinky, Ive come to love white on white so I really enjoyed doing this one.  Our new challenge is being set by Crafty Chris and she's let us all off lightly with 'Anything Goes'!  Thanks Chris, that will be great to see a whole variety of different makes.
If you fancy getting a few extra Christmas cards together in time for you know what then feel free to join in.  We will be posting our cards 2 weeks today on Sunday 25th September so why not join in and let us know what youve made!

Changing course completely I couldnt let today go without saying something about 9/11.  I cant believe it has been 10 years since that dreadful day, my heart goes out to everyone affected by the tragedy.

Growing Pains

Morning!

Just popping on to share a card I made for my nephew - he's the family joker with a great sense of humour so this image was just perfect for him!

The bp is from Funky Fairies and the blue striped one Ive no idea as it was in my blue bag of scraps, the image is by Bugaboo.  I made the badge on the pc.
Have a super time this weekend what ever you're upto!
