Ive been a very lucky lady!

Hello all,

I wasnt planning on joining in with the Woyww as nothing is drastically different on my desk today until ding dong.  No, is wasnt Avon it was the delivery man with a super package from abroad.  Have a peep!

This is the bundle of goodies I received today from my American friend Vickie! I am so lucky especially considering when I sent over a package for her with something that she couldn't buy in the States yet loved, it had to go by pigeon post (aka surface mail!) and it took about 5wks to reach her - only getting there just this week!
And do you know what I sent?  Teabags and Jaffa Cakes!

I feel so awful now as firstly, I didn't do it for anything back and look at all of the gorgeous stuff she has sent me.  I will make it up to her that's for sure!
Thank You Vickie!
The only thing I own by Stampin' Up prior to today was the beautiful buttons that I won and now amongst other delicious stuff Ive got 2 gorgeous sets of stamps and I can really see why they are so popular, the quality is phenomenal.

Thanks for calling in and enjoy the rest of your week!

Fizzy Moon

Morning!

I hope everyone's had a super weekend, I was busy with lots of cards and crocheting!  I really enjoyed it and it kept me quiet!
Steve's got the next weekend as holiday so we are looking forward to a few days a little different to the norm!  I hope the weather holds!

Right, here's my card for him for our anniversary later this week.

Last week I stamped up a couple of this cute Fizzy Moon bear and for this one I wanted to keep it quite masculine so decided upon a plain black and white scheme.  The script paper is by Pink Petticoat - French Script along with a scrap of the stripey black & white that I found in my black wallet of scraps so Ive no idea what it is!

Id like to enter this into the following challenges:

The Saturday Challenge - Black & White
Sketch Saturday - the super sketch

For those that saw my Woyww desk here is a photo of the finished card!

Isnt he just so cute?!

Thanks for calling in, hope to get back for more blogging at some point this week.

50 years together!

Hello,

Ive been asked to make a special card for a special couple who are celebrating their Golden Wedding anniversary so my usual came out to play again!  Pink Petticoat's Little Swirls in Sand and Lord Tim Holt's Tattered Florals with a little sprinkling or three of golden seed beads too!

Have I ever mentioned that I do love Easel cards!  Honest, I do!
I think they make a simple card look extra special!
And a matching box does the trick also I hope!  (I have made another bloom for the top of the box but it wasnt dry when I took the photo so it's not on it yet!)

A number of weeks back I was thinking that Id soon be parting with my dies and then Laura and I cleared and cleaned this craft room and I lost 2 of my Bigz dies, the Tattered Florals above and a new flower die so knowing I had this to make I had to go and buy another!  Grrr!  That'll teach me!

I made these 2 little A6 cards with the leftovers; a bit like a Mondays Cottage Pie after the Sunday Roast!

Id like to enter this into the following challenge:

Right, Im off to make more mess at my desk!
Enjoy your weekend everyone and thanks for calling in!

WOYWW 3.8

Morning!

Im playing along with the great WoywW again, its been soooo long and I think I dropped by the wayside as I was deterred because I couldnt comment on everyone's blog but Im just gonna get a grip and do what I can!
Here's my desk today:

I'm trying to make a nice card suitable for my clever girl and I've used my one and only Fizzy Moon stamp - have to own up, I did buy it specially for this occasion though!  I'm going green and sand with the colours and maybe that's slowing me up too as maybe they aren't her usual colours!
For anyone wishing to play along then pop over to visit Julia and add your link.  You'll be amazed at the various ports of call you will make, it really does make the world a lot smaller!
Thanks for calling in!

Catch up!

Morning!

Long post warning!
Firstly, just to say that my very clever little girl has passed all of her exams and is now a qualified public and private sector Accountant!  I am soooo proud I could burst!
We were at a family wedding on Friday - the day she found out the results - and here's a snap of us.

Heifer alert!  Ooh how I hate seeing myself!!
Anyway, here's a photo of my beautiful niece on her special day too.

and the lovely soft buttercup colour scheme was just gorgeous!

Im also late with my Christmas Card Club submission so here it is too.

This used a new digi from Cuddly Buddly which I just fell in love with!  The challenge this fortnight was set by Sally and we had to use a 'Santa' figure and the hardest thing was deciding which one to use!  If you hop over and see some of the other girls (links are on my sidebar) you will see what they made too.

I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful summer sunshine and long may it continue - even though we are now due rain for the remainder of the week?!  Hopefully it will just be showers though and better still, not actually reach Southampton!

Catch you all soon, thanks for calling in.

Mum in lilac

Hello back again, this time with a card Ive made for my youngest to give to her MIL.  She chose the image so apologies for bringing it out of the cupboard again but it is a beauty I think!

Ive used Pink Petticoats washed out and Grandmothers wallpaper both in lilac and the sketch is today's mini challenge over at Bugaboo.  Well my version of it, just a tiny tweak!  Hope you like it!

Now Ive seen it up here, Im going to add the big Tim Holtz bloom in the top left hand corner as its looking a tad bare to me!  Firstly, I need to find that die!   Aaaaargh!
Keryn x

Oh Bugaboo! Better late than never?!

Good morning campers!

Its another perfect British Summer's day here, grey, cloudy with showers :(
Meanwhile over at Bugaboo it's Christmas in July all week long and Im hoping that the time difference between here and Bugaboo HQ in Canada will allow this to count as yesterdays entry?!

This is Xmas Tree Ruby and she is just great!  Ruby is a family name so I am particularly soft for her!  I used up a sheet of embossed card leftover from last year layered with some silver mirri card, a sentiment, a flower and Voila!
Im going to try to join in with there week long of activities, come and play too!

WAM - What A Mess!

Morning,

Dont worry no material content referring to any newspaper here folks!  Im bored stiff of it all to be honest!

As promised here is the before shot

eeek, what a blinking mess you cry!
Indeed!  BUT, in my defence it was the dogs' fault!!  lol!
The double bed, as you can see is virtually clear as that is where the dog beds are and they sleep there all the time I am in here so it just had to go on the floor!  This is the stuff that was cleared out of the conservatory (my first location for the craft room) a couple of months back when we gutted there.  My youngest came to stay/organise/help me at the weekend and we spent a lot of time and money in Ikea!  We were just about to be awarded their regular visitor trophy too!
Anyway, after a big trip to the tip and some assembly this is how it now looks.

aaaah, that's much better!

The bit of white on the right of the shot is another 4 cubed storage unit and that has my sewing machine and associated 'stuff' in it.

Having a big list of cards to make I fear that it will be an ongoing task to finish off but at least the floor is clear but I have to be honest, the bed has lots of craft stock that needs sorting through too!  Its never ending I fear!

My CCC card

Hello,

Managed to clear enough space on my desk to get my card up.  I will show a couple of photos to explain my absence tomorrow.

Here's the card Ive made using Pinky's choice of 'Use a Teddy' so I chose an old digi that Ive had for a couple of years from Cuddly Buddly.  Ive also used up some soft blue snowflake papers that were printed off last year too by Pink Petticoat, a little seam binding and a few Martha Stewart Snowflake die cuts!

If you'd also like to get a head with a few xmas cards and would like to join us at the Christmas Card Club just click on any of us listed on my sidebar!

Id like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crafty Emma Christmas
Sketch & Stash followed sketch and old stash is digi as described above
Digi Stamp 4 Joy Christmas in July
Catch the Bug Non trad Christmas colours
Simply Create Christmas Time
Creative Inspirations Xmas in July

Hope to see you tomorrow, thanks for your visit!

Sunshine Wedding

Hello,

Im back with a wedding card that Ive made for my niece's wedding on the 29th (30yrs to the day from Charles and Princess Di's wedding, cant believe where that time has gone!?!).  It's the first time that Ive ever seen a yellow colour theme for a wedding and it's been a lovely change but I am all yellowed out now especially as Ive made the Guest Book and box too all in sunshine yellow!  I want to make a pink one now just for a change!!

Ive had the Hero Arts stamp set for years and its been very neglected by me which is naughty so I must try harder to use some of my old stamps that are usually hidden in drawers!
I hope I can get away with the silver tone heart charm even though the accent  is gold, I just havent seen many gold coloured charms around.
Right, must finish the decoration on the top of the box, will show it when its all finished!  Have a super week ladies!

Make my Monday

Hello,

I stumbled across a new challenge blog this morning called Make My Monday and I think it has a monthly theme running through it and then each week an addition is added to change the mix slightly - well, thats if Ive got it right?!
This month's theme is Vintage and this week is added 'embossing' to it. Here's my card:

The bp is Pink Petticoat's Doodle Dots in Mocha, Ive used a CB snowflake embossing folder, the main image is an Inkadinkadoo bargain from Ebay and the leaves were images from a freebie acrylic stamp set in a craft mag last year.  I stamped it in Frayed Burlap DI and finished with a quick whiz with the sewing machine!
It's really beautiful here in Southampton but it's not due to last more than a day or so :(  Well, it is the British Summer after all!

Thanks for your visit,

My Christmas in July

Hello,

I had a fairly productive day yesterday making xmas cards!  Ive no idea where that came from, it must have been my xmas in July moment!  Anyway, here's one of the cards I made using the great sketch over at Sketch & Stash Challenge and I used my brand new Penny Black stamp that I got from Handy Hippo last week.

The old stash was the bp that were already printed and lying around in my Xmas box!  I think this tree will be making a frequent appearance as I really love how it's come out.

Id also like to enter this card into the following challenge:
Papertake Weekly Challenge
Thanks for your visit!

Can anyone help please, since the mega mess up with Blogger a few months back I have not been able to link to anything.  As you will see my codes are just showing and not actually linking, have I gone mad and the codes are wrong or is there something else that Im doing wrong??  Id really appreciate any advice I can get!
THANK YOU to everyone for your help with this!  I worked through the list of suggestions with no joy and when I got to Clares; hers worked!  YAY!  I love you Clare Bear - thanks so much! The 'Link' button is completely new to me, Id been doing all of the donkey work myself.  And, yes, Chrome is the best for blogging and I have to say I couldnt recommend it highly enough as Ive been with it a couple of years now :)

CCC & Pink Gem freebie

Hello,

Back with another early xmas card!  They are very slowly mounting up which is great and Im sure I will be even more thankful come the time!

This fortnight was Lizzies choice and she requested us to not use any backing papers!  I really enjoyed this task and here's one of my cards.

This cute chap is Winter Philip and he is a freebie from Janet over at
<a href="http://pinkgem-janet.blogspot.com">Pink Gem</a>.  Isnt he cute!  It was a simple choice for me to emboss and with a couple of die cuts I was done!

If you fancy joining in with our club to make a coupleof xmas cards every fortnight then please contact any one of us as listed on my sidebar, we'd love for you to join in!

Hope to be back tomorrow,
Keryn x

ETA: can anyone suggest anything to help me, I havent been able to create a link for months and months now and I cant see what Im doing wrong!  Its driving me batty!

Bling on the Flourish!

Morning!

It's quite an odd DT day for me as it is our last challenge this week before our Summer break.  My weeks wont feel the same for a couple of months so I thought Id show my card and rally some support from everyone to see if we can get a really big entry this week!  The prizes are super and include some of Teri's images plus a super selection of beautiful flourishes from our sponsor so please see if you can come and join me this week.

I'll be honest, I do sometimes use a flourish to finish off a card but this week as I was trying to make the flourish a bit more of a prominent player, I fiddled for a long while before I finished upon this design.  No doubt next time I wont stress over the flourish so much and will make a card that knocks the spots off this one?!  Cardmaking gets like this at times for me!

I feel much happier with this card now that I have cut up the flourish!  I made the background and used a couple of paired seahorses from Teri and was quite disappointed when I googled them to see what colour they were.  I thought they'd be a beautiful turquoise and instead they were this sort of ochre colour!

Steves put his back out yet again yesterday so Ive not idea how this weekend will pan out but if it sorts quickly then I hope to be back with some more shares.  Have a lovely weekend and thanks for calling in!

CCC set by Claire

Hello!

Can't believe it's been a week since I was last here, it's been a bit of a manic week here with DD2 celebrating her birthday and then we had a few days thinking she was going to be booking her wedding for 12weeks time!  Aaaargh!  It's all calm again now though as she's decided to settle with her original plan of next September so I can breathe again and eat again!!  The mega fast is on hold too!

Anyway here is my card that Ive made using Claires request for red, white & green and a Reindeer.  Ive used a stamp that I can't find the cover for so cant tell you who made it, if you know please just shout and I will amend this.  I used an Anita's sentiment with a red ribbon bow to fix and scraps of last years xmas remnants for paper/card.
If you fancy making a xmas card every fortnight getting ready for xmas then please contact any of us in the Christmas Card Club on my sidebar.

The new challenge is being set by Lizzie so pop on over to see what it is!

Thanks for popping in and I hope you have a lovely week.

Father's Day DT

Hello,

What a busy week it's been, Im so glad to have a day of crafting ahead of me as Ive still not had a play with the Silhouette yet!
Right, firstly here's a card I made for Father's Day which is this weeks challenge over at Delicious Doodles.  The sponsor this week is Crafts 4 Eternity and Ive used one of Michele's images for this card.

Isn't he cute?!

And this is a card Ive made using the gorgeous Stampendous stamp and in pistachio using papers by Pink Petticoat, the swirl is by Sizzix.

Hope you have a lovely weekend

DT - Texture

Hello!

Im all excited!  Ive lost my first half a stone at Slimming World (only 19 more to go!! 190lbs that is!!) and Im really enjoying it too - never ever thought Id say that about a diet but my head must be in the right place for once!  Secondly because Ive just received my Craft Robo-Silhouette!!!  toot toot!  Im so thrilled as Ive wanted one for a couple of years now and when I saw it on C&C at the weekend and on 4 easy pays I couldn't resist!  It's still in its box as Ive got to finish some cards first and then I cant wait to have a play!!
I may be gone for some time!!
I'm going to be getting rid of all of my dies on Ebay now so shout if there's anything that you fancy!

Here's my DT card using Texture as the current challenge.  Ive used Teri's New York skyline and some EF which I inked up then wound some thin wire around. I wanted to keep it pared back.  Hope you like it and if you'd liek to join in with this weeks challenge then hop on over, we'd all love to see you!

Before I go, Id just like to share a card I made using a water colour image that Steve painted for me.

I love him, what do you think?

Pastel Penguin with a bow

Hello ladies!

Just popped on to showcase my card for the current challenge which was set by Carol.  When I first saw it I thought Id never manage it but once I found the right image I was off, thanks Carol I really enjoyed it!

The image is by Pollycraft and since taking the photo Ive added a glitter glue border to the turquoise Bazzil and Im chuffed as Ive used up scraps again!

Im not sure who is due to set the next challenge as Ive lost the list so Im hoping to catch up with the other ladies in the Christmas Club for the answer!
If anyone would love to join in by making a xmas card every fortnight then just shout to any one of us listed on my sidebar.

New Stamp

Morning,
Just wanted to come on and show you what I made last night.  You know from time to time you read on blogs how good such and such was for sending orders etc etc and sometimes I have to admit I am sceptical as some of the blogs I follow are funded by suppliers due to their super high volume of readers.  Well this time I can 100% vouch for the fact that Crafty Emma Store is amazing!
I noticed on her blog that she had a sale so I wondered over and had a little peek and found, amongst a few other things, this beautiful stamp by CraftHouse Press (a UK company) and imagine my surprise when the order arrived the very next morning!  Wow!  That is amazing service Emma, thanks so much!
ETA: The shoe stamp is still on sale £3.49!

It's called Shoes and I think it's really lovely and I hope you like what Ive done with it.  I used some pearlised card that Ive had for years and the bloom was made from some sale bargain a long while ago too - I always knew it would come in handy!!
So, if you want to experience 1st class service for a change then I can personally recommend a visit to Emma's Store!

And talking of deliveries I received a largish package yesterday that looked like 12" papers.  I never order 12" as I just can't bring myself to cut into them usually so I was really struggling to understand what it could be.  I'd won a draw in Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine and got a fab new set by Basic Grey with accessories!  Lucky me!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend!
Keryn x

ps. I can't get a link to Emma to work yet but I'll add it to my sidebar.

Little touch of lace

Hello,

Here's my card for this week's challenge at Delicious Doodles which is to use lace.  I had to go and buy some specially as Im not really a lace girl so I hope this counts as lace!

This is Teri's latest image and is now available in the shop (link on sidebar) and it's called 'Floral Watering Can' and Ive coloured it with PM's and Copic.  All of the paper and card is from my huge supply of scraps as I am making a concerted effort to reduce that pile before using any news ones!

Hope you have a lovely weekend,
Keryn x

CC Catch Up

Hello,

I am so far behind with the challenge cards for the Christmas Club I thought Id better get a jiggy on!
This is the challenge I set many weeks back and I chose to use Penguin, Red & Stitching for this card.  Ive used Teri's 'Penguin with present' from Delicious Doodles and the bp is from Pink Petticoat.

I think Ive got another 3 to catch up on which were set by Sylvie, Margaret and Carol!  If you'd like to join in and get a few xmas cards made in preparation for this year then why not!  Its just a group of girls who make one card each fortnight and they are all listed on my sidebar (I may need to update it so apologies if anyone is missing today) so just contact one of us to find out more.

Vintage sewing

Hello,

Back in the land of blog and here's a card Ive made for my ex MIL from my eldest.  She asked for elderly and floral but knowing Joy as I do I know how she used to love to make everything she could so I managed to use an image that Ive had for a few years from Free Graphics Fairy.

Ive used BG 'Skate Shoppe' papers and I photocopied my tape measure and coloured it with DI.

I'll leave you with a snap from Easter of DD1 with her Chester who was quite jealous he couldnt get in with her!

Hope to see you again soon

Bagelopes R Us!

Hello,

Im totally addicted to Bagelopes!  Beware bagelope overload!
I found lots of inspiring tuts on Split Coast Stampers (that is one amazing site isnt it!) and decided to try one of these.

These are my first attempts and the envelopes were cheap thin ones so I didnt close them with a ribbon but with a funky paper clip.  I went to town yesterday and came home with more envelopes of a better quality and lots more bright paperclips.  They are so quick to make and so so easy, if you fancy trying something a bit different why not hop on over and find one that you fancy!
