I'm going to be having a break from blogging for a while but Im sure I'll still be visiting your blogs when I can so until I get back, keep well!

Ribbons/lace CCC

Hello ladies,

Im dragging up the rear with this card as I am 2 days late in posting it, we've had internet problems with Virgin but now that it is foxed here goes.

This is for my CCC entry that Carol chose which was ribbons or lace.  I love the ribbon tied around this holly wreath with Teddy Bo peeping through the middle!  Ive coloured him with Polychromos and blended them with lavendar oil (havent got sansodor or baby oil yet!) so there's a subtle aroma on the card too!  Maybe it would have been better if I'd found a xmas scented oil instead?!  Still, at least I'll sleep well tonight!
Thanks Carol for that challenge, ribbons and lace isnt something Id automatically grab when making a xmas card so it was good to think outside of the box!
We've had an afternoon of blue skies and sunshine so a slow walk through the woods with the dogs has been great after all of the rain of late.
I'll be back tomorrow with a card Ive made for my special sister in law's birthday.

Thank you for your visit, it makes it all worthwhile!

Hello,

Here are a couple of cards that Ive made from my newest CD-Rom Mimic Creations from Create & Craft.

Audrey looking super glam as always.

MJ having a thrilling time.

and Lady GaGa.  I just wanted a quick play so havent made fancy cards but just enough to show you some of the images.  At £18 Im not all together sure I would recommend it especially as there are some images that I have no idea who they are meant to be.  One good thing though is that you have the ability to make backing papers, inserts, envelopes etc so thats good.

Steve's a Grandad!

Hello,

Yeah my hubby joined the ranks of 'Grandparent' on Friday when baby Michael was born!  They live a long way away from us so at this stage we aren't sure when he will be able to see him but there are lots of beautiful photographs to be seen.  As you may know Ive been busy with making lots for Michael and here is the shawl that is now finished, pressed and ready to go!

Here's a couple of the cards I've made for them:

This was a LotV image and scraps of offcuts.

I used an image and papers by Pink Petticoat here.

Im just about to make her an exploding box as this is what she has asked for.

Ive also made another set for the Fish n Chip babies as I needed a break from white wool!

I'd like to enter either of the baby cards in to the following challenges:

Bearly Mine  - Baby Days
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes

Thanks for calling in!

Anything but a card!

Hello,

Can I have a moan please:  I hate the new style blogger.  It is taking me absolutely hours trying to figure out just the basics, it is really putting me off coming on here.  If it doesn't get much better very soon then Im not sure Im going to carry on with my blog as it is just awful.
Sorry about that but thanks for letting me vent!

This time over at our little Christmas Card Club is was the turn of our Clare to chose our fate and she chose 'Anything but a Card', I'm sure I wasn't alone in thinking what on earth am I going to do!  My cherished Silhouette came to my rescue and I made these:

little Xmas favour boxes for the table!  I used some real proper 12" papers too so I am very pleased - some of you may know I can't bring myself to cut into these very often but as it wasn't me cutting it but the Silhouette, I was happy!  If you'd like to see what the rest of the team came up with just click on their names in my sidebar!

Some Fish n Chip jumpers!

Morning!

April showers bring May flowers so they say so we are in for a very full bloom next month!  Here are the first couple of jumpers Ive made to post off to Dawn but as Im midway through another whilst I wait for more white to finish off the edging to the shawl.

Im struggling most with the colours as they need to be dark tones and Im only used to using pale wool for babies knitting hence I watered down the multi coloured wool with white for one of the hats and quite prefer that!  Thankfully each different wool knits up to a different size which is good as all babies are different!  If you think you could knit one of these up then just follow Dawns link above!

New Baby

Hello,

Here's a card Ive made ready for the impending birth of Steve's first Grandbaby next month.  Modern technology is amazing as they know the baby is a boy which makes thing super easy for a cardmaker!

I love this cute image by Cowgirl Up all of the papers are Pink Petticoat in turquoise, I used a couple of spare strips of grosgrain ribbon and a Quickutz sentiment.

Thanks for calling in and enjoy your week!

RMS Titanic

Morning,

RMS Titanic set sail from Southampton on 10th April 1912.

Engineers Memorial in Southampton

Being a born and bred Southampton girl I have seen one of our city's memorials to this grand ship everyday walking to the bus stop after school and although I'd looked it over several times, my youth didn't really help me to appreciate it.  However Southampton has been remembering this event so much over the past months so none of us could have missed the importance that this maritime disaster had on our city.  The city that lost the greater percentage of people was ours with sadly 549 local people going down with the ship.  The last known survivor of the ship died in Southampton in May 2009.

The total capacity of the ship was 2566 and due to a national coal strike in the UK, RMS Titanic set sail with 1317 people on board.  Maybe for once a strike actually did plenty of people a favour?  The strike postponed many people's cruising and it only ended days before the maiden voyage.

The wages of some of the crew on board, in today's equivalents are as follows:  Captain earned £7704 pm compared to a stewardesses earning of £257.  Of the 885 crew members only 23 were female.  The passengers included people from all walks of life and the financier/owner was J P Morgan who cancelled his ticket at the last moment.

RMS Titanic sets sail from Southampton docks 10th April 1912

One hundred years ago tonight this magnificent vessel floundered as she hit a massive iceberg at high speed and sunk resulting in a huge loss of life.

Ive really enjoyed researching this and very much looking forward to going to our new museum called Sea City which has a huge section dedicated totally to the RMS Titanic.
Long may all of those lost rest in peace.

Thanks for your visit,

Black & White Christmas

Morning!

Here are a couple of cards I have made following Margaret's request to see B&W for this fortnights challenge.  I love B&W so I was more than happy with this brief, Thank You Margaret I really enjoyed myself with these although the photography leaves a lot to be desired!

For this one I have used the super sketch over at Sketchy Colours and its the first inking of a stamp I found in my xmas box but without the card telling me who made it.  I think it may have been a freebie in a crafting mag last year!  I wasnt overly fussed with the 'white' card from Papermill on this one so I made another.

This snowman (from Bugaboo) was loitering on my desk with intent following my last card for CCC and I used the offcut of the black and white Twinkles paper from Pink Petticoat from the top card.  A little touch of snowflakes courtesy  of MS and the sparkly paper also a remnant from the above and it was done!  The white is much crisper on this one so I am happy!

If anyone else would like to get a head with their xmas cards this year then why not get in touch, there are 18 of us from all over the world now and its a lovely group of gals who share a bit more than the odd xmas card!

Knitting appeal for Fish n Chip babies

Happy Easter to you all!

Well if there's one thing that will put me off my chocolate today it was this.  I know I have some of the most talented creative crafty girls following this blog so if one of you can help me then it will be more than worth it.

I saw this plea for a basic jumper and beanie hat to be knitted in dark colours (you will not appreciate the need for the dark colours until you read Dawns post but I nearly cried).  I know I like to knit whilst the tv is on in the evening and Id like to plead with anyone who may be able to join me in making either a beanie hat or a jumper or even both - just from your scraps of wool.

Thank you for reading this and even if you cant knit would you please be able to help to spread the word on your blogs so that we can try to help these little Fish and Chip babies.

Thanks

ETA: Thanks Julia, Ive now tested and reposted the link!

Bunny Girl!

Hello,

Ive made both of my girls an Easter card for their fellas.

The image is by Bugaboo, the papers are in the Bloomers set by Pink Petticoat.  I shaded the buttermilk colour of everything with my new Limited Edition of PMs called Daffodil Bloom.  I cut a couple of eggs to give a little extra Easterey goodness as I couldnt get the chocolate to stay on the card!

We are off for a super Greek Mezze meal tomorrow night with my girls and their chaps and we are so looking forward to it as it will be a practice for our Greek trip in September!

Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter!

Red day!

Hello,

The sunny sky is just beginning to be replaced with grey clouds and I think it's the start of the bad stuff coming!  Typical really just as we face a lovely long bank holiday weekend!

This card I made using 2 small images from A Day for Daisies matted and layered with two torn strips of Pink Petticoat papers all finished off with a touch of red stitching and some tiny gems.  Its quite dark but I like it as I think the poppies lift it.

I'd like to enter this into the challenge over at Papertake Weekly which is Anything Goes.

Here is the card I made for Steve for Easter; the image is Bugaboo, I made the multi coloured stripey paper, a small embossed panel and die cut finished it off.  I made the sentiment on the pc.

Have a super week,

Very naughty!

Hello,

After a lovely but warm walk with the dogs yesterday at our favourite park I came home to decorate these little beauties!
I know I should have dusted them with a whisper of icing sugar but you know I have got my waist to think of!!  (cough cough!)
Having licked the spoon I was sugared up enough to buzz loudly but Steve still insisted on doing what he does best: the taste test with a mug of tea.
Apparently I'm going to be allowed to make them again he says!

Im still wedding party making so will be back with something to share soon, enjoy your week and thanks for your visit!

New Beginnings

Morning!

Here's a little card I made using an image and papers from Pink Petticoat.  Id not used these particular papers before but I really like them so Im planning on printing off a few more ready for some future cards.

Ive made this card for Emily, her story is over at Dustin Pike's blog.  Emily is a poorly little girl and there is a worldwide call for cards for her and Dustin has supplied a set of super images to use.  This one was precoloured and I thought that's all we could use but having seen a few other cards now I can see that you can colour your own.  I'm going to post this off to her before the hike in postage hits us here in the UK!

Back later with another share, enjoy your day,

Pearls and Swirls CCC 25.03.12

Morning,

Just a quick visit to share my CCC card, this time Hazel chose Pearls & Swirls for the theme, I really wasn't sure what I was going to do for this challenge so I scoured my image for inspiration; here is my card.

The great image is from Bugaboo and the Twinkles paper is by Pink Petticoat.  If you'd like to get ahead of the game this xmas and make a card a fortnight then just get in touch!  The rest of the girls are listed on my sidebar so why not pop over and see what theyve made too!

Congratulations Claire & Mark!

Hi,

Just wanted to share a card I made for a special blogging friend who is getting married today.  I know she's received it so I'm happy to share it now.

Claire and Mark are tying the knot in Coventry and look at the weather!  I'm sure she is having the time of her life, it makes you go all tingly doesn't it but then I am up to my eyes with wedding stationery for my girl so maybe I am just in Wedding mode right now!

This is the first time that Ive used this style of card for someone other than my girls and Im really pleased with how it turned out, Ive even lined the insides to coordinate which is a first!

This image I've had for absolutely ages having seen Pinky use it beautifully a while ago and this was the first print for it; I cut it close with just a minimal white edge then trimmed again onto pearlised ivory card.
The wedding cake, wedding rings, horseshoe and hearts dies are by Quickutz, the hearts are nesties.  I used a couple of embossing plates and the blue card is from Papermill.

I know I'll be thinking of them for the whole day and I'm only sorry I couldn't go and see her so I'm really looking forward to seeing her photos!

This weekend starts the UK's British Summertime and all I can say is
'Bring It On', we are due a super nice Summer and it will be worth losing an hours sleep for!
Have a super weekend everyone,
Keryn xx

Exercise is a dirty word!

Good morning, I hope you are all well.  Ive been busy with my daughter's wedding stationery so have been busy in the background even if not here blogging!

Here's a card I made for a great niece, its a fun image from Bugaboo and some papers that I picked up on my first visit to Dunelm (talk about disappointing!).

Thanks for your visit and I hope you all have a super weekend.

Sketch & Stash # 83

Morning,

Sharing a couple of cards today for a friends little one who turns 1 shortly.  Ive followed the sketch over at Sketch & Stash and put the sentiment on the opposite side so hopefully that will be ok.

The papers are by Pink Petticoat, border punch by MS and the sweet image is by Mo Manning.  The BP is 2 years old and I think Ive had the image for about the same time too so hopefully that is my old stash for the challenge.

This is the second card for George:

For this I paper pieced an image by Beccys Place and embossed some plain white card underneath.

I hope you like my cards and thanks for your visit.

Im loving getting ahead of the game with a few xmas cards made in advance and if you'd like to join in then please just shout!  If you click on the rest of the team you will see what they've made too!

Im off to see if there are any challenges I can join in with, in the meantime enjoy your Sunday!

All grown up!

Hello,

Ive been making a few cards and here's one Id like to share with you today.

Ive seen blogging buddies using their Bugaboo images and posting today so it prompted me to enjoy a little Bugaboo humour too!
I played with a digi paper to add a dark brown circle too and the 2 checked mats are by DCWV (sacrilege actually having to cut into this beautiful pad but it had to be done!).

Ive spent many a lonely hour perusing Pinterest recently and found this gorgeous card

and thought WOW this is just gorgeous, so simple but effective so I set about having a dabble in my scraps and created these.

This comes with a warning though, it is very addictive so beware!

Id like to enter my Bugaboo card in to the challenges over at:
 Paper Shelter - anything goes
PaperTake Weekly - anything goes

Thanks for your visit,

Mellow Yellow

Hi,

Just a quick visit to share a card Ive made for a great niece.  Ive used an image by one of my first blogging friends Claire who designs her own images and sells them over on Stitchy Bear Stamps.  Im using her Star Fairy so I opted to use a soft starshiny colour!

Ive used a little pearlised ivory card, pink petticoat papers, some glamour dust and a sprinkling of Crystal Ice glitter glue to finish it off!

Id like to enter this into the current challenge over at Fab'n'Funky which is 'mellow yellow'!

Thanks for calling in,

Jayden 5

Hello,

Here's a card I've made for my great nephew, he is a special member of our family as he is the only one who is carrying my family name forward.  Quite unusual considering I was one of five kids yet only one child is able to do this!

I just love Lili of the Valley images for boy/male cards, they really do them so well which makes my task a lot easier for me.  I've used up some scraps from a very very old pad I have along with some lovely green bazzil card.  The football is a Quickutz double die and I love having the opportunity to use it, something that doesn't happen often enough I feel.

Id like to enter this into the following challenges:
Secret Crafter - green for go
Simon Says - anything goes

Have a super week and thanks for calling in,

Gardening

Hi,

I picked up the newest edition of Simply Homemade at the weekend and it had some really beautiful Nitwits papers and stamps.  The mag itself left me a little disappointed but maybe its just because nothing in it this issue really floated my boat; generally I love the mag but it wont stop me getting it again next month and hoping for a better one.

I made this card using Teddy Bea in her garden with the gorgeous freebie Nitwit papers.  The sentiment and hand tools were cut using my Silhouette.

Its a little retro and chintzy but I think its do-able for me!

Dustin Pike brings on the bling

Hello,

Im working on increasing my stock of male cards so when I saw that Dustin Pike was asking us to Bling up one of his images I chose this one:

This was a freebie earlier in the month and I think he is just gorgeous!  I wanted to add some bling on a male card as its not a card I would naturally think I could bling up so I added just a touch of Glamour Dust to his little heart.

Of course, he's also got a wet shiny nose!
Id like to enter this card into Dustin's latest challenge.

Liebster Award

Hello,

This is something that hasn't happened in a while so I was totally surprised and thrilled to be forwarded this super award by Maria at the weekend, Thank You very  much Maria for thinking of me.

The concept behind this award is this:
"Liebster" in German means "dearest". The idea of the Liebster Blog Award is to spread the love from one small blog (under 200 followers) to other small blogs. This helps to spread knowledge and readership.

I smile as I realise that I have been awarded this once before, a long time back now and, still being a small or is it a 'bijou' blog, I like the fact that my little blog is just the same now!

To accept the award, you must:
1) Link back to the person who gave it and thank them for thinking of you.
2) Post the award to your blog.
3) Give the award to 5 bloggers (with less than 200 followers) that you appreciate and value.
4) Leave a comment on the blogs of the five people you have chosen to let them know.

The blogs I have chosen to receive this award from me, in alphabetical order, are:

Crafting Buddies - my life would be so dull without my craft and my pets
Debi - absolutely beautiful crafting, Debbi's style from down under!
Debbie - Im quite new to Debbies blog but I love my visits
Margaret - the maker of some of the loveliest cards!
Tina - gorgeous stylish cards and what a beautiful dog too!

Sue - this is an added extra for me as I have only just 'found' her blog and it is quite wonderful so I just couldn't miss her out!

Some people I went to share this with and found Id already done it first time around so this time its for some new to me talent!  Please hop on over if you fancy seeing something new and fresh!

Multi fold card

Hello,

This fortnight found us challenged by Lizzie to make a double fold card - not including the main fold of the card.  I received a pack of Papermania Stepper card blanks for xmas so this was the first time Id tried one.  I used the gorgeous Teddy Bo & Bea enjoying a sled ride.

Just out of shot was our little scamp Amber, here:
She's nearly 7mths and its just like having a toddler in the house!  Notice her radar is in action as someone somewhere closed a car door!
I used my Silhouette for the sentiment and the snowflakes along with scraps from last xmas of Pink Petticoats Snowflake papers in Blossom.  Its very very bright here hence the glare on the shots, sorry but just had to get them up.

Id like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Delightful Challenges - use patterned paper
The Paper Shelter - add a sentiment
Moving Along with the Times - lots of layers
Crafty Creations - crafty with our folds

Thanks for calling in, see you soon

Silhouette card

Hello,

I had a chance to play with my Silhouette a few days ago and here something that I made using one of their display cards as inspiration.

I used some Bazzil Basics that I ordered from QVC a few months ago as they cut beautifully in the machine.  I cut a 3d flower and used one of the new sentiments by Pink Petticoats.  I made two cards like this, the other is the reverse of this as I just couldnt waste all of the cutouts!
Hope you have a super weekend,
Kerynx
