What an amazing Lady!

Hello,  I have just come across a truly amazing lady who supports the Alzheimers Society in a very whole hearted way!  She has been doing a daily candy giveaway in an attempt to raise the profile of her fundraising and as a Thank You to the many supporters of her who have kindly donated items for her to sell.
As I say I have only just become aware so have decided to mention her today.
Jude is giving away a totally amazing Candy until 29th October and the more people who enter to win her candy then the more she will add to it.
I am just happy to help pass the word for such a deserving cause but please do pop over to visit Jude's blog as she has the most adorable xmas card on it of Kris Kringle!!

Thank you for popping by!

Craft Stamper Magazine

Back again!  Ive not long followed this mag, it is AB FAB!  I never thought I would enjoy a stamping mag half as much as I did, I can't recommend it highly enough!  If you haven't already seen a copy, have a peep next time you are in a craft shop, you wont be disappointed!

This is my interpretation of the front cover on the August issue.  The actual stamp they used is presently winging it's way across the pond to me but I improvised the image with this lovely corset stamp.  It's a fold back A5 card and I versamarked the image on the inner piece using clear EP to give a subtle interest that can only be found if you look for it - but I haven't loaded a photo of it!

I used:
inks: ink it up violet, turquoise and cranberry
image: Stampendous, beaded bodice
swirls: Hero Arts clear set
stash: clear EP, corner rounder, gel glitter adhesives

Well this is another attempt at distressing and I have to say that if there is one single thing that I can't abide - getting mucky fingers - I am surprisingly thoroughly enjoying myself!!  lol

Well it's a busy birthday weekend now so I wont be about for another wee while but Ive got both girls coming tomorrow morning and staying for the weekend and I can't wait!  It will start at the hairdressers, then off to see a venue set up for a wedding and then to finish off, back to try on the dress that she thinks 'is the one'!!  We all remember what that feels like don't we girls?!

Well I will wish one of my brothers - Bryan and one of my sisters - Jackya very happy day tomorrow.  What on earth was my Mum thinking: having three of us in 2 days!?!

Thank you for popping by

Holiday Snaps - well two!

 Hello,
I had a lovely break at Brean Sands, North Somerset
in our caravan and were away earlier in the month for the whole of that
glorious weather, we were so very lucky!
Here is the sunset on our first night there, it was
gorgeous.  There were miles and miles and sands,
the sea was 3/4 miles out so we only saw it once
despite spending many hours on the sands each day!

The second photo is of our happy little dogs crashed out on Steve after having enjoyed the lovely sands!  Such bliss!

I've had a little break from the cards
and it has been nice, much nicer than
I thought but the downside is that my
confidence was rocked a bit and
I get to thinking that I can't do it!

I will be back in a while as I have managed to
make something that Idlike to share.

Thanks for popping by

Anniversary

Pink overload on this one I think!  I distressed the background using ordinary inks and a natural sponge.  Ive been testing out a variety of items with which to distress as suggested by many of you, thank you for the tips and help, it is all very much appreciated!  I wanted to keep this card quite basic as the colour is strong enough.

I used:
image - PB Cupful of Love
border punch - fiskars threading water
corner detail - sizzix die
leaves - quickutz

flowers, button, rubons - stash

Hope you all have a great week, today we're celebrating DH's birthday and am away on holiday Wednesday to North Somerset, so Ive got my fingers crossed for some dry weather!!

Boys Rock!

Hello again,  I just had to return to post 2 boys cards.   I used the great 'Skater' image from my friend Claire's new shop.
Please pop over, I promise, you wont be disappointed!  She has allsorts of images for all sorts of tastes and she is adding more by the day (that may be a slight fib but there's more there now than when I bought the skater!)

http://hopejacare.blogspot.com
I am going for the kill now, oh what the heck and am going to enter this/these cards into the Allsorts challenge which is 'male themed'.  Just as well it covers adolescents too!  www.allsortschallenge.blogspot.com
www.aspoonfulofsugarchallenge.blogspot.com

Thanks Pinky for letting me know about this challenge!  This week it is 'distressing'.

Ive distressed both PP with inks, scrumpled it up and inked a bit more so that it caught on the creases.  I inked the brown card after it was embossed, added a layered sentiment, hessian 'ribbon' and personalised them both.

Ive coloured the images with watercolour pencils then added some sheen and gloss.

Well, I hope the two 12yr olds that Ive made these for think that they are ok!  I really enjoyed making them.

Just before I go I just have to apologise regarding my lack of previous links.  I have just found a setting on Blogger that was not allowing them to link.  I can't begin to tell you how frustrating it has been for me for so many months!!  lol  I usually get there in the end!  Im more the tortoise than the rabbit!

Thank you for calling in!

Distressed? You will be!!

Hello, during my pc enforced absence I was quite busy so I wanted to share with you some of the cards that I made.
Here is a Pearl Anniversary card I was asked to make. I decided to try the 'vintage' - 'distressed' style and this is the result! I hope Sheila and Sue aren't laughing too loud!? I thoroughly enjoyed getting mucky and had a wonderful time! I used Funky Fairy pp, some irridescent ivory paper, QK: butterfly, initials, swirls, numbers & heart, CB script embossing folder and the 'ribbon' was found last month in the sale at Hobbycraft for a massive reel for only 99p! Stick on pearls also from HC.
I tried the 'spongey' application of two shades of ink, versamarked some Hero Arts swirls and finished with some glimmer mist in irridescent gold.
So, in all it was 2 firsts for me, distressing the pp and shimmer misting!
Id love to know what the best sponge is to use so if you have any tips, Id love to hear them!

Hope you like my little creation and Ive had a wonderful day catching up with blogs and Ive only got to Sunday! Im going to thoroughly enjoy the rest of the week catching up with everything else!
September 1st already with autumn around the corner!

Thanks for looking

AWOL

Hello!

I've had a memorable week for all the wrong reasons!! PC problems left me without it from saturday to wednesday midnight - set it up only to find the exact same problem as before it went to shop to be fixed! Have now got daughters 'old' pc (her pre laptop pc) and as it is much newer and better than mine I am very pleased, however, all of my craft files are on the broken one!

I have hundreds of images and backing papers printed so really have no excuse but I'm desperately missing my special files and am reluctant to take both pc's in to try to resolve the issue incase something else goes wrong!

Sadly in the long, long days without a pc I became very domesticated and did masses of ironing - if I admitted it was infact 10hrs of ironing that will show a) how bad I am at doing the ironing and b) how many clothes we've actually both got before we ran out :-/ I even ran out of hangers and our wardrobes are bulging which is really bad but I did realise that DH has far more clothes than me! DH also put up my much needed extra shelving at my desk and my space is slowly getting more and more organised; so, all in all, as much as I HATED not having a pc, I did gain in other things!

I hope to catch up with everyone's blogs over the weekend and I'd like to be able to post some of my makes also but in the meantime, I hope everyone enjoys a really great Bank Holiday weekend and thanks for popping by!

A very special girl

Hi,
Here's a card Im just about to send and it is for someone very special. The image is from PcCrafter which has been layered onto silver mirri and pale blue card, the pp is PP, sentiment is pc generated and I've glamour dusted the wings of the lovely bee (and myself in the process!). A couple of flowers from my stash complete this simple card.

Thank you for looking and enjoy your week

Hubby's Card

Hi, I hope everyone is enjoying the gorgeous weather! I sat in the garden to have lunch and that was long enough for me! Im trying to collate a bundle of cards for PostPals and whilst I do this Im just going to load my card I made for DH earlier this week. The image is from the Love Words on Funky Fairy, they have some really smashing sentiments there so do have a peep if you can spare a moment. There was also a big discount on all of their range too so it might be worth your while! www.funkyfairyspapercrafts.com
All the pp are PP and I used rub-ons from stash along with the ribbon and the little 'made with love' charm. Quite simple but I like it and luckily he did too!

Catch you later but if I don't I hope you're all having a really lovely weekend!

Dad's Birthday

Hi, well another first for me today as this is my entry into the new challenge blog over at Bizzy Becs Creatalicious Challenge blog. There the theme is 'something for Dad' and 'metal'. This card is for Steph's man to give his Dad this week. I smiled at the thought of my Dad actually bbq'ing anything!! Though I am really lucky as my DH is brilliant on the bbq!
Ive used the digi-stamp boutiques BBQ Jim, the kettle bbq is silver & the rest of the image is water coloured with the brads and eyelets completing the metal theme. The papers are all from Funky Fairy.

Mr Bloggy is obviously on the saturday night wobbly water! Talk about messing about?! lol
Bring on the sunshine tomorrow please!

English Country Garden

Hi, here is my entry into this weeks Allsorts Challenge. It is my 1st go at this challenge but felt this card I made this week was suitable for it. The image is from PcCrafter, a place I visited after seeing one of Sheila's blog posts. I was asked to make a card for a male who was mad on his allotment. As hard as I could try I just couldn't find anything 'allotmenty'! I decoupaged the image to add some depth and added a mini button for the draw handle and accessorised with some twine, a lolly stick, brads and eyelets. All pp are from the Funky Fairy. I hope you like it.

Anniversary

Hello, am following Kim's example of posting a wedding photo as we've this week celebrated our 5th anniversary. As you can see from the empty rows of chairs, we had a very small 'do'! I cant say how much I loathe having my photo taken but had little choice on this day!
We celebrated it on Thursday even though it was Tuesday but work commitments forced the change. We spent the day in lovely Winchester and then had a lovely meal in the place that we had our first date 7 yrs ago!
I have some cards to show so will add those over the course of the weekend.
I hear the weather is improving so summer may finally be on it's way! Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Thanks for calling in

Friends Award

Hi, I would like to thank Victoria and Claire for forwarding these awards onto me. Thank you very much ladies! I really appreciate them.
Please pop over to their blogs as they have some really beautiful creations to see, not least their gorgeous little people!
Victoria is at http://bluejellytoo.blogspot.com
Claire is at
http://hopejacare.blogspot.com

The recipients are asked to list 5 things about themselves that might not have previously been divulged, well, that was fun!

1. Im still trying to loose my 'baby' weight :-/
2. I spent alot of my time in junior school actually outside the classroom door - for laughing!
3. The 1st time I got drunk was on my 1st honeymoon in Paris! (I'd led a very sheltered life!)
4. When I remarried 5 yrs ago there were only 4 guests plus a gate-crasher, 1 of my sisters!
5. I've seen a ghost of a person I'd never met or seen but could describe him in minute detail!

Well, I think I've scraped the barrel of my tired mind enough for one night. I really appreciate receiving these lovely awards but am fully aware that many people don't like to receive them themselves so I will offer them to the following people and hope they at least enjoy the sentiment that they have been forwarded with.

1. Pinky, she was my first ever follower and she regularly pops in to visit, thanks!
2. Jules, she's a great mate and a beautiful crafter!
3. Steph, a really lovely girl with lots and lots on her plate at the moment!
4. Sheila, (I know she wont accept this award) however she's so friendly and I just love her blogs!
5. Mo, (another who wouldn't be able to accept this but) she has such a stunning talent and I thoroughly love looking at her work

As I say, I'm fully aware that some or all may not wish to accept this award and I'm perfectly happy with that but I still send them these awards all in the circle of friendship!

Happy crafting everyone & Thank You for visiting!

Wedding Stationery

Hello, I just wanted to show a little sample of the wedding I have just finished. The wedding is actually today and earlier I received a big beautiful pink & white bouquet from the bride & groom! I was completely stunned and thrilled!
I really liked the colour scheme at the start of the year but I need a wee break from the dark chocolate now! So, if you see me posting anything with either ivory or dark chocolate please do SHOUT at me!! I had a couple of days off from crafting and spent them with DH which was lovely.
Im unable to view many of my reading list at the moment so I hope it will sort itself soon as I have plenty to catch up on! I will be back several times over the weekend with lots (well for me it will be!) of posts. In the meantime, I hope everyone has a really lovely weekend and that we all can enjoy some lovely sunshine!
Thank you for taking the time to call in!

Enjoy

Hello,
I hope everyone's had a lovely weekend, today has been a beautiful summer's day but it's not due to last :(
I am all but done with the wedding and am just making my gift to them of a Guest Book all in the same theme/colours that they have chosen. It is all being collected on Tuesday and I can't wait!

Im unable to continue tonight as I've been trying to connect my new CISS and am now covered in magenta ink! The scene looks like some awful teen horror movie! Luckily DH is a printer who's at work now so he's going to bring me some 'proper' cleaning fluid in the morning so I can clean up & finish the book!

Here's a card I made a few weeks back and it uses the gorgeous teddy from Chris Dark over at
http://sketchingstamperdigi-stamps.blogspot.com He is 'Bearing Love' and I think he's great. I've used pp from PP, nesties and a typed sentiment with a heart button from my stash.
Thank you for visiting

Hi, here is the latest addition to my family! My eldest daughter has just collected her little pup Chester. We met him yesterday and fell instantly in love!! He is my surrogate grandchild! He's a working Cocker Spaniel or rather he will be when he's fully grown! At the moment he is just the most adorable little bundle of fluff!

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend, hope you be back to normal next week some time; post wedding!
