Sunday Sketch on time!

Hello,

The days are flying by here at the Puppy's Palace!  I tell you I am run ragged!  Next time you see a plea on my blog for help finding another puppy PLEASE shoot me!!  lol!  She is a REAL handful but I can't help but laugh as she is such a cheeky rascal!  For example she gruffs and growls when you lift her at night to put her in her bed!!  I mean, the cheek of it?!

She's tearing around the place, usually hanging on to Honeys fur in the process as they play chase.  Honey is ok at the moment as she can jump up onto the sofas to get away from the terror but Im sure that wont last too long!

Three days after she arrived she was up and down the stairs at a rate of knots that would impress a greyhound!  However, on her third day she was just too fast and ended up at the bottom quicker than she intended.  Ooh my heart was thumping as I rushed to her at which point she picked herself up and hared after Honey like a thing possessed!  Its never a dull moment here folks!

Right, card stuff!  Im feeling quite pleased with myself for actually getting this done in time to actually play with this weeks challenge over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp, too often I play along and then dont post the card in time!

I made this card for Steve's birthday earlier this week and I used an image that I first saw when Jules sent me a couple of images, I knew I had to own him too; he is 'Birthday Dog' by Penny Black!  The gorgeous papers are from a pad by DCWV 'Naturals' and they are the kind that I struggle to use as they are toooo lovely!  Ive had the pad for many months and just couldn't bring myself to use it but I felt Steve was worth it!

The die cut sentiment on the bottom of the easel was cut on my Silhouette from copper pearlised card and the stamped sentiment is also Penny Black.

Id like to enter this into the following challenges

Sunday Sketch & Stamp - I used their sketch
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

Thanks for calling in!

Delicious Doodles New Season starts here!

Good morning!

The sun is shining and its a beautiful day here on the South Coast but I will be deep in cards as I am so far behind and have loads and loads to do!

Here is my card for the start of our new season over at Delicious Doodles and appropriately we start with a challenge called 'Fresh Start' so why not hop on over and see what our newly reformed DT have come up with, there are some superb creations there!

Teri has released a lot of new things through the summer including this beautiful paper, I played with it in Publisher and duplicated the design and I really love the  vibrant colours!  The image, which anyone who knows me will know is a new direction for me is called in the pumpkin patch and Ive coloured her with my PM's and Copics, a bit of embossing, a Sizzix photo corner or two and some card candy completes my make.

And for all of those who have asked here are a couple of shots of little Amber!

out on her first 'walk' - being carried the whole way until she has had her last injection!

having a mid morning nap with my big 'sis'!  Honey is loving having a little playmate, hopefully she will get a bit of weight off as we got a bit of a telling off at the vets this week when she was weighed!  I hastened to explain that Steve likes Honey to test everything he eats - he must think he is Henry Vlll or something!

Have a super weekend and thanks for your visit today!

Mistletoe and Wine!

No, not the dated song with Cliff in an awful jumper but this weeks challenge which was set by Sylvie.  She chose the Mistletoe and I chose the colour scheme of wine!  I liked the challenge, thanks Sylvie as it made me search all of my xmas stash for a suitable image and I settled on this one by Bugaboo.

The snowflake mat it is on was one made with the new Martha Stewart Stamp around the page that was the TSV earlier this week.  All I can say is that I loved the concept but the actual device needs a few tweaks to stop 'hidden' ink from getting everywhere you dont want it!  The centre space had to be covered to hide all of the ink splodges hence, its going back :(

Recipe

Image - Bugaboo

coloured with - PM's

BP - Pink Petticoat dotty snowflakes

embellies - Card Candy

The next challenge is set now by Margaret and she has chosen all white with a  touch of glitter!  That's a really lovely one so if you fancy joining in with us then just contact one of us who will explain what is what!  We are all listed on my sidebar and while you're there you may want to hop over and see what the other girls have done with Sylvie's challenge.

Have a lovely week and thanks for calling in!

Now I know that I must be mad!

Hello,

Just a very quick visit inbetween squeezing in everything else I need to do before she wakes again..... please meet Amber!

Here's the reason Ive not stopped for the last couple of days!  Its been a quick reminder of how much hard work it is to have a puppy but she is rather gorgeous!  She's a short legged Jack Russell.

Martha Stewart Stamp around the Page: did anyone else get this set?  Mine arrived yesterday and inbetween her sleeps, I had a little play.  Im finding the design gets quite a bit of residual ink from the first stamp that appears all over the card thereafter?  Has anyone else had this?  I used a variety of different inks but its just the same; every now and then, a splodge of ink appears somewhere on the square of card that Im using!  Its very frustrating!  Id love to hear what you think of it.

Have a super Bank Holiday weekend,

Keryn xx

Jack Russell puppy wanted!

Hello,

This is a bit random, well not considering it's me, but we are after another Jack Russell and dont want to deal with a puppy farm nor can we afford most of the breeders fees.  Hence I wondered if anyone knows of any sensibly priced pups that need to be homed?

We would need a little girl so she would fit nicely in with the two duchesses that we already have!  We are also looking into rehoming a rescue dog but that also can be quite expensive.

Here's hoping someone knows of something!

Birthday Wishes

Hello,

Here's a card Ive made for a niece and Ive used a LotV image that was one of many that were free in a craft mag last month - what a good idea that was!  It definitely beat receiving a little stamp of something that just isnt my style and ends up filling a space but never gets used!  I'd love to see more of that sort of freebie in the crafty mags!  Anyway, here she is:

Ive used some pretty SU paper and sentiment, a couple of paper blooms, ribbon and lace and a couple of tiny brads.

Id like to enter this into these challenges

Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge - my fibres are on the lace!

Crazy 4 Challenges - bingo card, Ive used square card, embossing, brads

Ive had a right royal nuisance of late with numerous nuisance calls.  I found out that the caller is a debt collection agency looking for a Heidi.  Despite being told over 20 times that no one called Heidi lives here there kept on calling and calling and calling.

Their favourite time to call is just after 8am 6 days a week.  On the days that I can manage to stagger to the phone sometimes they hang up and sometimes they ask for Heidi.  Sometimes I told them the formal reply and I have to admit ladies, that sometimes on the fourth call in 30mins, I told them to go forth and multiply, my Mother would not have been pleased :(

Sadly they just persist.

Ive rung everyone; Offcom, Consumer Direct, Trading Standards etc etc and no one can do anything officially, they can only advise.  Today I had no choice but to change our telephone number because had we blocked their number, they could have then rung from another line in the office and it would have started all over again.

I find it amazing in this day and age that innocent folk can be hounded so much and there's nothing we can do to stop them?!  What on earth is going on?  The bit that really cheesed me off was this morning being told by this chap that if I didnt tell him where Heidi lived then he'd ring me all day every day.

Now Ive got the aggro of changing everything to the new number but in the meantime, if you see Heidi, please tell her Im looking for her!

I do hope your Saturday is going much better than mine!!

A robin came a calling

Hello,

Here's this fortnights card in the Christmas Card Club and the challenge was set by Kerry; she chose robin, holly and maybe a postbox.  I havent used a Robin as a main focal point before so was quite looking forward to this one, thanks Kerry!

Ive only one postbox and its a scene in itself so wouldnt fit with any Robin image that I had so I settled for this gorgeous little chap.  He is available here over at Teri's Delicious Doodles shop.  Ive made a 6" square card and kept it quite simple with the bp of Pink Petticoats 'Washed Out' in Sand and the first cutting of the Sizzix die 'tis the season' and an old favourite holly leaves by Quickutz.

Id love to enter this card into these challenges:
Saturday Challenge  - xmas is coming
SFCC - Robin
CHCC - Keep it simple - this is as simple as I do!

Hope you have all enjoyed a super weekend!

Thanks for calling by,

PS.  Jodie over at Bugaboo is having a 35% sale til 26th Aug

Our DT Call over at Delicious Doodles ends this Friday

And Pink Petticoat has just released a couple of new paper sets!

My week in pictures!

Hello,

Ive had a variety of a week but its a lovely thought knowing Steve is off this weekend, I think we will have the girls and boys over tomorrow for a meal, my favourite thing is having us all together.

I'll start with a little wedding card Ive made for Laura's friends who are due to get married in Florida shortly.

Next is the dogs on their walk on Tuesday playing ball!

This is Steves first entry into an art competition in his painting mag!

This is us just as we went out last night for our anniversary meal!  Yes, Steve had been in the sun far too much this week, he looks like a lobster!

And finally, a card Ive made using the Sketchy Colours Challenge this week of pinky, white & gold.  I have to say it is a colour combo I had never ever tried before as I always team pink with silver!

Ive used my new SU stamp to make the background, the border punch on the pink paper and a couple of the little dew drops to accent!

Thanks for calling in and I hope you enjoy a snapshot of my week!

Have a super weekend everyone and take care!

Ive been a very lucky lady!

Hello all,

I wasnt planning on joining in with the Woyww as nothing is drastically different on my desk today until ding dong.  No, is wasnt Avon it was the delivery man with a super package from abroad.  Have a peep!

This is the bundle of goodies I received today from my American friend Vickie! I am so lucky especially considering when I sent over a package for her with something that she couldn't buy in the States yet loved, it had to go by pigeon post (aka surface mail!) and it took about 5wks to reach her - only getting there just this week!

And do you know what I sent?  Teabags and Jaffa Cakes!

I feel so awful now as firstly, I didn't do it for anything back and look at all of the gorgeous stuff she has sent me.  I will make it up to her that's for sure!

Thank You Vickie!

The only thing I own by Stampin' Up prior to today was the beautiful buttons that I won and now amongst other delicious stuff Ive got 2 gorgeous sets of stamps and I can really see why they are so popular, the quality is phenomenal.

Thanks for calling in and enjoy the rest of your week!

Fizzy Moon

Morning!

I hope everyone's had a super weekend, I was busy with lots of cards and crocheting!  I really enjoyed it and it kept me quiet!

Steve's got the next weekend as holiday so we are looking forward to a few days a little different to the norm!  I hope the weather holds!

Right, here's my card for him for our anniversary later this week.

Last week I stamped up a couple of this cute Fizzy Moon bear and for this one I wanted to keep it quite masculine so decided upon a plain black and white scheme.  The script paper is by Pink Petticoat - French Script along with a scrap of the stripey black & white that I found in my black wallet of scraps so Ive no idea what it is!

Id like to enter this into the following challenges:

The Saturday Challenge - Black & White

Sketch Saturday - the super sketch

For those that saw my Woyww desk here is a photo of the finished card!

Isnt he just so cute?!

Thanks for calling in, hope to get back for more blogging at some point this week.

50 years together!

Hello,

Ive been asked to make a special card for a special couple who are celebrating their Golden Wedding anniversary so my usual came out to play again!  Pink Petticoat's Little Swirls in Sand and Lord Tim Holt's Tattered Florals with a little sprinkling or three of golden seed beads too!

Have I ever mentioned that I do love Easel cards!  Honest, I do!

I think they make a simple card look extra special!

And a matching box does the trick also I hope!  (I have made another bloom for the top of the box but it wasnt dry when I took the photo so it's not on it yet!)

A number of weeks back I was thinking that Id soon be parting with my dies and then Laura and I cleared and cleaned this craft room and I lost 2 of my Bigz dies, the Tattered Florals above and a new flower die so knowing I had this to make I had to go and buy another!  Grrr!  That'll teach me!

I made these 2 little A6 cards with the leftovers; a bit like a Mondays Cottage Pie after the Sunday Roast!

Id like to enter this into the following challenge:

Papertake Weekly - anything Goes - with metal

Right, Im off to make more mess at my desk!

Enjoy your weekend everyone and thanks for calling in!

WOYWW 3.8

Morning!

Im playing along with the great WoywW again, its been soooo long and I think I dropped by the wayside as I was deterred because I couldnt comment on everyone's blog but Im just gonna get a grip and do what I can!

Here's my desk today:

I'm trying to make a nice card suitable for my clever girl and I've used my one and only Fizzy Moon stamp - have to own up, I did buy it specially for this occasion though!  I'm going green and sand with the colours and maybe that's slowing me up too as maybe they aren't her usual colours!

For anyone wishing to play along then pop over to visit Julia and add your link.  You'll be amazed at the various ports of call you will make, it really does make the world a lot smaller!

Thanks for calling in!

Catch up!

Morning!

Long post warning!

Firstly, just to say that my very clever little girl has passed all of her exams and is now a qualified public and private sector Accountant!  I am soooo proud I could burst!

We were at a family wedding on Friday - the day she found out the results - and here's a snap of us.

Heifer alert!  Ooh how I hate seeing myself!!

Anyway, here's a photo of my beautiful niece on her special day too.

and the lovely soft buttercup colour scheme was just gorgeous!

Im also late with my Christmas Card Club submission so here it is too.

This used a new digi from Cuddly Buddly which I just fell in love with!  The challenge this fortnight was set by Sally and we had to use a 'Santa' figure and the hardest thing was deciding which one to use!  If you hop over and see some of the other girls (links are on my sidebar) you will see what they made too.

I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful summer sunshine and long may it continue - even though we are now due rain for the remainder of the week?!  Hopefully it will just be showers though and better still, not actually reach Southampton!

Catch you all soon, thanks for calling in.

Mum in lilac

Hello back again, this time with a card Ive made for my youngest to give to her MIL.  She chose the image so apologies for bringing it out of the cupboard again but it is a beauty I think!

Ive used Pink Petticoats washed out and Grandmothers wallpaper both in lilac and the sketch is today's mini challenge over at Bugaboo.  Well my version of it, just a tiny tweak!  Hope you like it!

Now Ive seen it up here, Im going to add the big Tim Holtz bloom in the top left hand corner as its looking a tad bare to me!  Firstly, I need to find that die!   Aaaaargh!

Keryn x

Oh Bugaboo! Better late than never?!

Good morning campers!

Its another perfect British Summer's day here, grey, cloudy with showers :(

Meanwhile over at Bugaboo it's Christmas in July all week long and Im hoping that the time difference between here and Bugaboo HQ in Canada will allow this to count as yesterdays entry?!

This is Xmas Tree Ruby and she is just great!  Ruby is a family name so I am particularly soft for her!  I used up a sheet of embossed card leftover from last year layered with some silver mirri card, a sentiment, a flower and Voila!

Im going to try to join in with there week long of activities, come and play too!

WAM - What A Mess!

Morning,

Dont worry no material content referring to any newspaper here folks!  Im bored stiff of it all to be honest!

As promised here is the before shot

eeek, what a blinking mess you cry!

Indeed!  BUT, in my defence it was the dogs' fault!!  lol!

The double bed, as you can see is virtually clear as that is where the dog beds are and they sleep there all the time I am in here so it just had to go on the floor!  This is the stuff that was cleared out of the conservatory (my first location for the craft room) a couple of months back when we gutted there.  My youngest came to stay/organise/help me at the weekend and we spent a lot of time and money in Ikea!  We were just about to be awarded their regular visitor trophy too!

Anyway, after a big trip to the tip and some assembly this is how it now looks.

aaaah, that's much better!

The bit of white on the right of the shot is another 4 cubed storage unit and that has my sewing machine and associated 'stuff' in it.

Having a big list of cards to make I fear that it will be an ongoing task to finish off but at least the floor is clear but I have to be honest, the bed has lots of craft stock that needs sorting through too!  Its never ending I fear!

My CCC card

Hello,

Managed to clear enough space on my desk to get my card up.  I will show a couple of photos to explain my absence tomorrow.

Here's the card Ive made using Pinky's choice of 'Use a Teddy' so I chose an old digi that Ive had for a couple of years from Cuddly Buddly.  Ive also used up some soft blue snowflake papers that were printed off last year too by Pink Petticoat, a little seam binding and a few Martha Stewart Snowflake die cuts!

If you'd also like to get a head with a few xmas cards and would like to join us at the Christmas Card Club just click on any of us listed on my sidebar!

Id like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crafty Emma Christmas

Sketch & Stash followed sketch and old stash is digi as described above

Digi Stamp 4 Joy Christmas in July

Catch the Bug Non trad Christmas colours

Simply Create Christmas Time

Creative Inspirations Xmas in July

Hope to see you tomorrow, thanks for your visit!

Sunshine Wedding

Hello,

Im back with a wedding card that Ive made for my niece's wedding on the 29th (30yrs to the day from Charles and Princess Di's wedding, cant believe where that time has gone!?!).  It's the first time that Ive ever seen a yellow colour theme for a wedding and it's been a lovely change but I am all yellowed out now especially as Ive made the Guest Book and box too all in sunshine yellow!  I want to make a pink one now just for a change!!

Ive had the Hero Arts stamp set for years and its been very neglected by me which is naughty so I must try harder to use some of my old stamps that are usually hidden in drawers!

I hope I can get away with the silver tone heart charm even though the accent  is gold, I just havent seen many gold coloured charms around.

Right, must finish the decoration on the top of the box, will show it when its all finished!  Have a super week ladies!
